RE: Very rare specimen

One mushroom was not enough to eat. In addition, heat treatment destroys useful medicinal substances. I think that alcohol tincture will be useful to me.

This is how Paul Stamets uses Lion's mane (basically the same thing as the Bear's tooth) https://fungi.com/collections/host-defense-extracts/products/lions-mane-extract
If I understand correctly, these are tinctures from different mushrooms. I am surprised only by the strength of alcohol 30-40%. Apparently they dilute the concentrate twice.
Thanks for the link. I realized what I would do with dried amanita :)
Then i wonder what type of alcohol is used.
The best extractor is 70% high purity medical alcohol. I buy 96% alcohol and bring it up to 70%. And then I fill in the raw materials for at least 21 days.
You can use both vodka and moonshine, but there is only 40-55%. I prefer pure alcohol.
I'm sure the more pure alcohol extracts the elements better. I read some of those chemicals are really difficult to separate from the fibers of the mushrooms. That's why things like turkeytail need to be boiled for a few hours then soaked in alcohol for days.
I agree that tinder fungi have a dense structure. But high temperatures (above 60 degrees) destroy some of the beneficial substances contained in mushrooms. I would rather not boil it, but soak it in warm water for several hours. And I would use this water to dilute the resulting tincture to a lower percentage of alcohol .. During softening, some of the substances also dissolve.
Good tactic or maybe boil it after soaking it in alcohol as the last step. Then use the boiled water to dilute the alcohol.
Interesting idea. After the alcohol extract, something really may remain. It will not be deduced, but it may be ready to be deduced with ... you need to think about it. Still, high temperatures can be devastating. Can you try to fill the leftovers with heated oil (40-50 degrees Celsius)?
