FungiFriday - Through the needles

The place we would normally go to to get some mushrooms shots is a pine kingdom. Tall, old pines that bend on the wind but nothing can break them.
Pines and lots of little, resilient shrubs. The poor and very sandy soil wont allow many other things to grow.

So it is obvious that the ground is covered in pinecones and pine needles. And though all the mess the little mushrooms have to find their way up.

And they manage!

I wonder who was nibbling on those needles...

All those were shot in January. It is still a bit too early now to find fresh mushrooms. Still a bit too warm, too mush sun and not enough rain. But I will look around soon. Maybe some are in a hurry :)

Those look a bit dried up...
Winters here are quite rainy, but I guess the sun still managed to get them.

Bonus shot:
While in some parts of the world the nature still sleeps under thick layer of snow (if they are lucky), here some plants are starting to grow.
Shot in the same spot in the same time as all above.

My contribution to #FungiFriday by @ewkaw

I hope many of you will join as there are only 2 simple rules:

  • when Friday comes post your own, original photo/drawing/art/food/anything-at-all of any type of fungi (yes, I will check and report stolen images!)
  • add #FungiFriday tag (it doesn't have to be your first tag)
    That's all :)
