Hola, setero! Today I spent like an hour or more commenting on the posts, and had no time to choose anything good for my own post. But miracles do happen! I went for a little evening walk today, and grabbed a CF card from a bag. On my return home - surprise! - I discovered there two nice mushroom sessions (well, one of them maybe not that nice, it is rather bizarre, and I will keep hoadling it... until I really be in need, hehe).

And the other one is ceps! A great Porcini mushrooms that grew at our place this summer. We had a few 'waves' of their invasion - and this was like the very 1st one. My wife took these pictures using our old Canon 350D camera -- those shrooms popped up and were cropped exactly on the same week when I was away, did a brief comeback to the city to repair the main camera (5D) which broke almost immediately during my vacations this summer. Thats why (unfortunately!) most of my macro shots this summer were made with Canon 350D, and just a little part using 5D).

Ok, enjoy the pics.

It is a big pleasure to notice such a gigantic cap that can be nothing but a good edible meaty Boleto.

There are no unedbible boletos like this here! So the only possible problem with it can be somebody already have found it before you! Like slugs, snails and worms. They do like tasty meaty boletos, haha, and and do find them faster than us, humans.

Those caps promise so much!
A good meal, a stock of dried mushrooms - supplies for the winter, indispensible for surviving if you live a life relying on your hands and nature only. They are especially appreciated in times of famine, when the rest of the food supplies are over. Dried porcini mushrooms will greatly increase the taste of porridge and soup made from simple ingredients.

Their texture look like a 'brainy coral'

Cut shows the caps are clear of worms, this time we win! and harvested Ceps before worms spoiled them. But this happens not frequently. The second wave - which started to grow and appeared maybe at the same time, those captures were made (I was at the city meanwhile) - were located a few steps from this certain spot, at the far side of the strawberry beds and stayed totally unnoticed! until I returned and found them, walking across our place.... those were very picturesque and looking nice (I already shared the pics of this 'wave 2') but totally conquered by the worms, hehe.

And of course the White Cat Overseer was near and in charge of the process. Everything was under control and approved by the Cat Power.

Now, its time to part ways, I wish you good luck -- and Good Hunting!

Kitty approval is very important part!
And I agree about the extra flavor in soups... Love to add some to tomato soup.
