Local king of mushrooms

The weather is warm and dry all week.
Today is Friday and we traditionally go to the forest again. The grove has become completely transparent, it does not surprise me. October is the last autumn month in these places. Winter will come soon, very soon. But we are glad for these last sunny days.

Today we are on the way to a birch grove. We might even get lucky. Many fungi form mycorrhiza with birch.

We were not wrong. Here he is the king of these places - the mushroom Lactárius résimus from the Russulaceae family

The mushroom hat grows up to 20 centimeters. The pulp is white, with a pleasant smell. True, the mushroom is rarely pure. Traces of fallen leaves and grass can usually be seen on it.

In an old mushroom, the leg becomes hollow, and the cap becomes covered with brown spots.

The mushroom is edible. In Siberia, it is salted, and, moreover, it is perfectly stored for many months until the new mushroom season.

From the birch grove we went to the pine plantations. Mushrooms love this area.

It's a shame the mushroom season is over, but I will definitely come back here next summer.
