I remember very well when The Office came out, and I was completely reluctant to watch it, I knew that there was already the British version and I was very suspicious of the fact that Hollywood "copied" something that had already been successful in Great Britain and that it should not have any kind of success.... It was far from the truth.

And the truth was that I wasn't mentally mature enough to watch a TV Show of this caliber, and I wasn't morally strong enough either. This show has to be watched with a very open mind, and you have to be ready to start watching a sitcom like I have never seen before, with the most intense laughs I have ever gotten in the craziest situations. Get ready to read the most fanatical review I've ever done because the show truly deserves it.

Recuerdo muy bien cuando The Office se estrenó, y yo estaba completamente reacia a verla, sabía que ya existía la versión Británica y me hizo mucho ruido el hecho de que Hollywood "copiara" algo que ya había tenido éxito en Gran Bretaña y que no debía tener ningún tipo de éxito... Estaba muy lejos de la verdad.

Y la verdad era que yo no estaba mentalmente madura para ver una serie de este calibre, y tampoco era lo suficientemente fuerte moralmente. Este show hay que verlo con la mente muy abierta, y hay que estar listos para empezar a ver un sitcom como no he visto jamás, con las risas más intensas que me han dado en las situaciones más alocadas. Prepárense para leer la reseña más fanática que habré hecho jamás porque de verdad la serie se lo merece.

THE OFFICE

Imagínense retratar la vida de unos oficinistas de una empresa que vende papel con una sucursal Regional en algún lugar de los Estados Unidos, ¿Divertido? No parece, ¿cierto? ¿Y se a dicha oficina le agregamos un equipo documental que grabe cada uno de los movimientos de los trabajadores de esta empresa? Tampoco. Entonces. ¿qué fue lo que hizo a The Office uno de los mejores Sit-Coms? Pues es fácil, la fórmulña perfecta de un cast impresionante: Un Jef completamente egoénmtrico, un vendedor muy Psicópata, y otro que solo le interesaba hacer bromas, la recepcionista más dulce, un Gerente de Recursos Humanos sin personalidad, y pare usted de contar la cantidad de personajes definidos. A mí se me hace imposible hacer una reseña de la serie sin mostrar a cada uno de estos personajes, y hablo de todos los personajes (o al menos los primeros 10 más relevantes).

The Boss

Michael Scott:

The backbone of the whole Show. Michael Scott, regional manager of Dunder Mifflin, egocentric, misogynist, homophobic, racist, and stop counting all the things you discover about him just by watching the first episode. However, as his story progresses, he becomes a better person without ceasing to be the social misfit that he already is, the situations he creates are impressive, the laughter he let out with each situation was one of the most authentic I've had watching something comic. Little by little we see a human side: a good friend, good boss, concerned about his subordinates, his only ambition is to be a husband and a family man. Best of all, he never lost his essence, nor the ability to take those under his command, to the most chaotic ocuras that could happen within any company.

But this role is nothing without the great actor behind it: Steve Carrel, he was present from the first episode until he left in the end of the seventh season, being everything we wanted to see from the boss we most loved to see.

La columna vertebral de toda la serie. Michael Scott, Gerente regional de Dunder Mifflin, egocéntrico, misógino, homofóbico, racista, y pare usted de contar todas las cosas que se descubren de él solo con ver el primer capítulo. Sin embargo, a medida que va avanzando su historia, se va volviendo mejor persona sin dejar de ser el desadaptado social que ya es, las situaciones que crea son impresionantes, las risas que soltaba con cada situación eran de las más auténticas que he tenido viendo algo cómico. Poco a poco vamos viendo un lado humano: un buen amigo, buen jefe, preocupado por sus subordinados, su única ambición es ser un esposo y un padre de familia. Lo mejor de todo, es que nunca perdió su esencia, ni la capacidad de llevar a los que estaban bajo su mando, a las más caóticas ocuras que podrían pasar dentro de ninguna empresa.

Pero este papel no es nada sin el gran actor detrás: Steve Carrel, estuvo presente desde el primer capítulo hasta que salió en el final de la séptima temporada, siendo todo lo que queríamos ver del jefe que más amábamos ver.

The Three

Jim Halpert:

A rather skilled salesman with a terrible haircut and a unique charm. Besides selling paper he has only two primary functions during his day at the office: to play all kinds of pranks on Dwight and to talk to Pam, with whom he is madly in love. His expressive movements looking into the camera every time someone did or said something incoherent were particularly key in the development of the whole show.

Played by John Krazinski, who was a complete unknown when the show began, we now see him starring in more serious stories like Jack Ryan and the, even directing and starring in films like A Quiet place, in which he starred alongside his wife, Emily Blunt.

Un vendedor bastante habilidoso, con un corte de cabello terrible y una simpatía única. Además de vender papel tiene solo dos funciones primordiales durante su día en la oficina: hacerle todo tipo de bromas a Dwight y hablar con Pam, de quien está perdidamente enamorado. Sus expresivos movimientos mirando hacia la cámara cada vez que alguien hacía o decía una incoherencia fueron particularmente clave dentro del desarrollo de todo el show.

The star salesman. He's as bad as a human being can be, a psychopath, a lover of hunting, beets, guns, overbearing, inhuman, without a shred of empathy for anything around him, his only mission: to get to Regional Manager. Rainn Wilson played the most detestable character in the entire Show, but we know that without him the show would be completely derailed, he was always on the lookout for anything Machiavellian and with a rational yet completely crazy logic that could cross his mind.

El vendedor estrella. Es todo lo malo que puede ser un ser humano, un psicópata, amante de la caza, las remolachas, las armas, prepotente, inhumano, sin una sola pizca de empatía por nada que le rodea, su única misión: llegar a Gerente Regional. Pam Beasly:

A cute and sweet receptionist, Michael's right hand, without her the management would be a complete disaster, maybe it seems that her only job was to answer the phone but we see her doing much more than that. She is engaged to her boyfriend of many years and that is why she has no eyes for Jim, however, between the two of them they are in charge of making the funniest jokes to Dwight, between these three we can see a sensational chemistry. Jenna Fischer became, in addition to one of the most indispensable characters of the show, producer of several chapters, she was nominated for Emmys for her role.

Una linda y dulce recepcionista, mano derecha de Michael, sin ella la gerencia sería un completo desastre, tal vez pareciera que su único trabajo era contestar el teléfono pero la veíamos haciendo mucho más que eso. The rest of The Office

Andy Bernard	Toby Flenderson
The insufferable fellow, Cornell graduate, banjo player, member of an A Cappella group, desperate for friends and the boss's favorite, is part of the sales staff and was transferred from another branch.	Human Resources: an inexpressive being and the only employee Michael really detested, sometimes I felt sorry for Toby, but his lack of personality was really unbearable.

Andy is played by Ed Helms, who we have seen in such well-known comedies as What Happened Yesterday? and Vacations, in which he starred opposite Christina Applegate. He is also a writer, producer and directed a couple of episodes of The Office.

Toby is played by Paul Lieberstein and is the Executive Producer of the whole show, he entered as cast by pure chance while helping the writers and reading inexpressively one of the scripts, the hatred Michael felt for him was one of the things that still makes me laugh the most, and a few times I felt sorry for the poor guy.

Kelly Kapoor	Ryan Howard
The typical chatty girl who only talks about fashion, boys and vanities. She only cares about stalking Ryan, they start a typical toxic relationship of those that end and come back every now and then.	The temp, he only entered for a short time and little by little he made his way up the ladder, he works together with the girl he is dating and it is incredible what they can achieve with that.
La típica chica parlanchina que solo habla de moda, chicos y vanidades. Solo le importa acosar a Ryan, empiezan una típica relación tóxica de esas en las que terminan y vuelven a cada rato.	El temporal, ingresó solo por breve tiempo y poco a poco fue abriéndose paso hasta escalar un poco más, trabaja junto a la chica con la que sale y es increíble lo que pueden lograr con eso.

Kelly was played by Mindy Kaling, this was another character created during the writing meetings, she entered the production as a writer and was left with a role in which she plays the customer service staff within the company. After finishing at the Office, she started her own TV show: The Mindy Project, she is also the voice of "Disgust" in Inside Out.

Don't let Ryan's beautiful blue eyes and angelic face fool you, his character is completely different from who he is in real life. B.J. Novak is the actor behind Ryan, and not only that, he was the co-executive producer of the Show in USA, plus he wrote many of the episodes and directed several more.

Que no te engañen los hermosos ojos azules y la cara angélical de Ryan, su personaje es completamente diferente a quien es él en la vida real. B.J. Angela Martin	Oscar Martinez
The correct, obnoxious, puritanical and extremely religious, has many cats and buys her clothes in a store to dress porcelain dolls. She works with a gay man...	Oscar is a nice guy, he's the one that seems to me the most serious of the whole series, he's gay, but not the typical stereotype they make us see in all these shows, which makes the role much more interesting because he's what his co-stars expected to see.
La correcta, odiosa, puritana y extremadamente religiosa, tiene muchos gatos y compra su ropa en una tienda para vestir muñecas de porcelana. Trabaja junto a un hombre gay...	Óscar es un sujeto agradable, es el que me parece más serio de toda la serie, es gay, pero no el típico estereotipo que nos hacen ver en todos estos shows, lo que hace el papel mucho más interesante porque es lo que sus compañeros esperaban ver.

The amazing thing about this pair is how completely opposite their characters are, putting a puritanical woman to work side by side with a gay man is to get a lot of comedy out of the situation. Lo increíble de este par es lo tan completamente opuestos que son sus personajes, poner a una puritana a trabajar lado a lado con un gay es para sacar mucha comedia de la situación. Pero lo más increíble es la actuación seria de Oscar, a quien ya habíamos visto en The Proposal con un personaje mucho más extrovertido. Imagine an 8 year old boy in the body of a middle aged man, that's Kevin. Besides playing amazing drums, he has no other talents, his way of talking is very funny, he even sounds like someone with special needs. For me, one of the best roles.	Let Stanley sleep and do his Sudoku in the corner! He's your typical 9-to-5 worker who works to bring home food and all he thinks about is collecting his paycheck and retiring early, he's created very specific epic moments.
Imagínense a un niño de 8 años en el cuerpo de un hombre de mediana edad, así es Kevin. Además de tocar la batería increíble, no tienen ningún otro talento, su manera de hablar es muy graciosa, incluso pareciera alguien con necesidades especiales. Para mi, uno de los mejores papeles.	¡Ya dejen que Stanley duerma y haga sus Sudokus tranquilo en una esquina! Meredith Palmer	Phyllis Vance
Don't let Meredith's angelic appearance fool you, she's a sexual predator, loves to party and has clear alcohol problems, an extremely uncomfortable role to watch but very hilarious.	Phyllis is what we see, a very sweet woman, but she is teased by Michael because of her weight and because she is older than she really is. Although it may not seem like it, she is the wisest of them all and perhaps the only one with the gift of saying things properly.

Creed Bratton	Darryl Phylbin
No one knows when Creed started working at Dunder Mifflin, he doesn't even know what position he holds in the company (quality control), he is a total mystery, he is a cléptomaniac, a swindler, with contacts and ways to get things illegally and he is suspected of having a criminal record.	Darryl is one of the members of the company's paper warehouse, Michael wants to be his friend and every time he's around he starts to talk to him in Ghetto slang... You can imagine what he will be able to get out of there.
Nadie sabe en que momento empezó a trabajar Creed en Dunder Mifflin, él ni siquiera sabe que cargo desempeña en la empresa (control de calidad), es un misterio total, cléptomano, estafador, con contactos y maneras de conseguir cosas de manera ilegal y se sospecha que tiene un prontuario criminal. Was it necessary to talk about all the characters? Well yes, imagine all this bunch of personalities together, it's the formula to make an amazing, super funny, irreverent and politically incorrect tv show. There were many more fixed characters within the Show, but I wanted to bring you the most memorable and the ones that shined the most times (because everyone, absolutely everyone, had even one great performance). As I said before, you can't talk about this Show without its complete cast, even never, no actor won an award for acting in this one, however, the complete cast won several times the SAG Award for Best Cast in a Comedy TV Show, which has a lot to say.

¿Era necesario hablar de todos los personajes? Pues sí, imagínense todo este montón de personalidades juntas, es la fórmula para hacer una serie increíble, super graciosa, irreverente y políticamente incorrecta. Hubo muchos más personajes fijos dentro de la serie, pero quise traerles los más memorables y los que brillaron más veces (porque todos, absolutamente todos, tuvieron aunque sea una actuación genial). Como dije anteriormente, no se puede hablar de esta serie sin su elenco completa, incluso nunca, ningún actor ganó un premio por actuar en esta, sin embargo, el cast completo ganó varias veces el SAG Award por el mejor reparto en una serie de Comedia, lo que tiene mucho que decir.

The last two seasons had a change of boss, but it was so incredibly balanced that the show was quite comical even with the lack of Michael Scott, however, it was never the same without his presence; his misplaced words and innocence are missing for many things, but still, its incredible cast kept The Office with 9 seasons, more than 20 episodes on average, and 20 minutes long each, completely successful and with a completely perfect ending, even if it brought tears to my eyes.

It was the most watched streaming of all of 2020, and if you want to watch it you can enjoy it through Netflix and Prime Video, best of all I will always be able to watch it again.

Si estás empapado de todo lo que ocurre a nivel de las luchas por la igualdad pero eres de mente abierta, disfrutarás esta comedia muchísimo, es lo más políticamente incorrecto que he disfrutado hasta ahora, tal vez no sea la mejor, aunque para mí, hasta ahora, lo es. También nos ha dejado un legado, muchos de los mejores Gif y memes son extraídos de la serie, así que muchjas caras les serán familiares por ello. Fue la serie más vista de todo el 2020, y si quieres verla pudes disfrutarla a través de Netflix y de Prime Video, lo mejor de todo es que siempre podré volver a verla.
