The film that shocked me, and negatively impressed me, is a film that has had an incredible planetary success.
A film that has revived a genre, the action movie.
I present to you

JOHN WICK

John Wick is the first of the films in the trilogy starring, guess what, John Wick.
To play him is an exhumed Keanu Reeves, an actor made famous by another trilogy, that of Matrix.
The interpreter of NEO, was a bit off the radar, due to problems related mainly to his private life and probably also to his surprising coming-out.
It's hard to say why Keanu Revees has become unpopular enough, hard to believe that he's back to being important and famous for a movie like John Wick.
To summarize the plot in 3 lines I'll tell you:

• John Wick is a former contract killer/resolver/ murderer of the highest caliber, retired from the pulp-criminal scene. Thanks to his encounter with a woman he madly loves, he stopped being the ruthless killer he had always been. The death of his beloved will lead him to be tormented but not to return to the criminal scene. At least until they kill his dog...

Those who saw the film know very well what happened after that moment.
John, after seeing his dog die at the hands of a gang of young Soviet criminals, decides to return to the field. Those young criminals were linked to one of the most powerful organizations in the world. They were armed to the teeth, very powerful, very rich.
John decides to kill everyone, every last one of them.
And he will succeed.
In the full tradition of action movies he will do it in a thousand different ways, with super powers like Batman, flying, resisting bullets, using 1000 different weapons.

A lot of people told me great things about the movie.
And I must admit that the action scenes are well done, the stratagems related to killing and torture are quite original.
But I must also tell you that I think John Wick is a very bad movie.
It's based on null, insane, flimsy assumptions.
Going up against hundreds of criminals for your dog seems a bit excessive...
As if that weren't enough, John is indestructible.
He's going to make other unprecedented choices, all stemming from his foolish choice to avenge his dog.
It felt more like a fantasy movie than an action movie.
I won't watch the other two films in the trilogy.
I'm not going to recommend John Wick to anyone.
