NightWalker: Eternal Darkness - Anime Movie Review

in Movies & TV Shows2 months ago

This is the second part of Nightwalker anime titled Eternal Darkness. I watched it yesterday. It contains episodes 7-12 of this anime. As far as I know the twelve episodes are it--too bad, this a good anime that I would have like to see more of. Warning it does deal with bisexual issues, if that bothers you then do not watch this anime.

This anime features Shido, a vampire turned detective. He vows to help, not harm humans. He has the typical vampire complex, the whole eternity in the darkness, alone--thing. He once killed a lot of humans but he repented. He now hunts night breeds or demons. He has three helpers in his demon hunts: Yayoi, a sexy cop who works in the NOS, a demon hunting division of the police; Riho, a spunky young "girl" who is turned into a vampire in disc 1–she's in love with Shido, (who isn't?); and Guni– a green fairy/demon who is a smart-aleck. We also see more of Cain who was Shido's lover in the past and the vampire who made Shido into a vampire. Cain is "evil" for he sees no wrong in killing humans.

The animation is great and constant this time. There are six episodes on the disc each representing again one night or case. Night seven is called Mother and Her Son, and is about a demon who kills animals. Night eight is called Soul Lost in the Darkness and is about a family who kills their grandfather/father-in-law for his money. Night nine is called Someone Else's Face. This is Yayoi's story relating how she became a cop and how she met Shido. Night ten is call Tears of an Angel. It is about a lonely young girl who finds a pendant. The pendant contains an angel in it that brings her happiness and good luck., but is he really an angel?

Night eleven is titled Witch in the Forest. It is a memory from Shido's past and his encounter with a strange blind woman who is waiting for her lost love. It also features and encounter with Cain. Night twelve is called Eternal Darkness and I'll just say that its Shido's very nightmare.

The only thing wrong with this anime is that twelve episodes are too short. The animation and voicing is great! The story is good to only extend through twelve episodes. The twelve episodes do not carry a central story line, its more a glimpse into Shido's life. This anime will leave you wishing there were more episodes, its great if you like vampire anime!
