First of all, I have to confess, I'm not a huge fan of horror movies, I'm too chicken, I don't get really scared while I watch it but after that, I can't even go to the bathroom without feeling like someone is chasing me around. That's silly, I know... I like to watch them with other people around tho because I don't show how scared I'm, so they look terrified and I make fun of them, but on the inside, I'm just the same.
In order to not being always feeling like someone is chasing me, I forget the horror movies, so I don't know if this is the best I have seen but I really like how unexpected the plot was.
Antes que nada, tengo que confesar que no soy muy fan de las películas de terror, soy demasiado gallina, no me asusto mucho mientras la veo pero después no puedo ni ir al baño sin sentir que alguien me persigue. Es una tontería, lo sé... Pero me gusta verlas con otras personas alrededor porque no muestro lo asustada que estoy, así que ellos son los que lucen aterrorizados yo me burlo de ellos, pero por dentro estoy igual.
Para no sentir como siempre alguien me anda persiguiendo, me olvido de las películas de terror, así que no sé si sea lo mejor que he visto, pero realmente fue inesperado.
A friend suggested this movie to me, usually, I don't watch horror by myself, but I'll say yes every time haha. @pashinni I trust her suggestions so I knew this was going to be good, but she just told me who the actress was, the rest was a surprise.
Una amiga me sugirió esta película, usualmente no veo terror por mi cuenta, pero diempre digo que sí. @pashinni Confío en sus sugerencias, así que sabía que iba a ser buena, pero solo me dijo quien era la actriz, lo demás fue sorpresa.

Incident in Ghostland
This movie starts with a family of just the mother and her two girls to an antique house they inherited from an aunt who passed away. The little sister, Beth, is a writer, she's starting to write her stuff and she's a huge fan of Lovecraft; her mom is always encouraging her to write but her sister is always telling her that her stories are too weird, also her sister, Vere, thinks that Beth is always scared of everything and scaping, so it's weird that she writes horror.

Esta película comienza con una familia formada sólo por la madre y sus dos hijas en una casa antigua que han heredado de una tía que ha fallecido. La hermana pequeña, Beth, es escritora, está empezando a escribir sus cosas y es una gran fan de Lovecraft; su madre siempre la anima a escribir pero su hermana siempre le dice que sus historias son demasiado raras, además su hermana, Vere, piensa que Beth siempre tiene miedo de todo y se asusta, por lo que es raro que escriba terror.

They arrived at the house, a creepy house, pretty old with too much stuff around, dolls, mirrors, pots, the sisters were fighting for everything but not hating each other, just annoyed, Beth, the writer, had her period, perfect time like Vera said, they continued organizing their stuff when then heard something, "It's an old house" Beth said and Vera just rolled her eyes and went to her room. The mother was with someone on the phone, she didn't notice the intruder until he hit her, very hard, she crashed to the wall and broke some photos, this man is big, gross, with a noticeable mental problem, he left her on the floor after hitting her few times and went for the girls, he got them and pulled them from their hair to the basement, then screamed, there was another guy, a transvestite, the big one assaulted the girls, he didn´t like Beth because she was on her period but he took Vera, Beth ran away but the other guy was behind her.
She was lucky that her mom was there, Beth cried and couldn't handle it, she looked away, but her mom fought with everything she had and beat the guy, she got stabbed but he was worse, then Vera screamed and her mom went to save her too, stabbing the big guy.
Vera had blood on her from the assault, her mom was stabbing the big guy repeatedly, Beth screamed because the tansvestite came back, her mom turned around and stabbed him in the neck...
This is when Beth woke up from her nightmare ten years later, crawling out of her bed to the floor where her husband came to hug her and comfort her from the trauma she had after that night.

Llegaron a la casa, una casa espeluznante, bastante vieja con demasiadas cosas alrededor, muñecas, espejos, ollas, las hermanas se peleaban por todo pero no se odiaban, solo se molestaban, Beth, la escritora, tuvo su periodo, en el momento perfecto como dijo Vera, continuaron organizando sus cosas cuando entonces escucharon algo, "Es una casa vieja" dijo Beth y Vera solo puso los ojos en blanco y se fue a su cuarto. La madre estaba con alguien al teléfono, no se dio cuenta del intruso hasta que la golpeó, muy fuerte, se estrelló contra la pared y rompió algunas fotos, este hombre es grande, bruto, con un notable problema mental, la dejó en el suelo después de golpearla varias veces y fue por las niñas, las atrapó y las tiró del pelo al sótano, luego gritó, había otro tipo, un travesti, el grande asaltó a las chicas, no le gustó Beth porque estaba con la regla pero se llevó a Vera, Beth salió corriendo pero el otro tipo estaba detrás de ella.
Tuvo la suerte de que su madre estaba allí, Beth lloraba y no podía soportarlo, miraba hacia otro lado, pero su madre luchó con todo lo que tenía y golpeó al tipo, ella fue apuñalada pero él lo pasó peor, entonces Vera gritó y su madre fue a salvarla también, apuñalando al tipo grande.
Vera tenía sangre encima por el asalto, su mamá estaba apuñalando al tipo grande repetidamente, Beth gritó porque el tasvestido volvió, su mamá se dio vuelta y lo apuñaló en el cuello...
Fue entonces cuando Beth despertó de su pesadilla diez años después, arrastrándose de su cama al suelo donde su marido vino a abrazarla y a consolarla del trauma que tenía tras esa noche.
Beth managed to become a writer, she loved Lovecraft and managed to be called the next Lovecraft thanks to her horror books, just now, after several successes, she was encouraged to write a book of that trauma she lived through in her adolescence, she did not admit having gone through it, she made it look like a fantasy. Her husband and son watched the interview with her, well, her son fell asleep. A call from her sister saying she had to come back interrupted her, she was asking her to come home, because "they" were attacking her again.
Vera was sick, she and her mother did not leave the house but she had not been able to overcome everything, she locked herself in the basement and beat herself, her mother said that she was beating herself, but there was more to it than that.
Beth logró convertirse en escritora, amaba a Lovecraft y consiguió ser llamada la siguiente Lovecraft gracias a sus libros de terror, apenas ahora, tras varios éxitos, se animó a escribir un libro de ese trauma que vivió en su adolescencia, no admitió haber pasado por eso, lo hizo ver como una fantasía. Su esposo e hijo veían la entrevista con ella, bueno, su hijo se durmió. Una llamada de su hermana diciendo que tenía que volver la interrumpió, le pedía regresar a casa, porque "ellos" la atacaban de nuevo.
Vera estaba enferma,ella y su madre no dejaron la casa pero ella no había podido superar todo, se encerraba en el sótano y se golpeaba, eso decía su madre, que ella misma se producía los golpes, pero había más que eso.
Vera was actually getting hurt by something Beth couldn't see, Vera tried so hard to make her sister understand but she was in denial until she got hurt too. She was unconscious, then woke up, feeling a lot of pain, saw herself in the mirror, and noticed all the punches. Went to look for her mother but didn't find her, so she went to confront her sister, asking what she did to her, but Vera was done chatting, yelled to her to stop escaping from reality... mom is dead, she couldn't do anything against the criminals.
Vera estaba siendo lastimada por algo que Beth no podía ver, Vera trató mucho de hacer entender a su hermana pero ella estaba en negación hasta que fue lastimada también. Estaba inconsciente, luego se despertó, sintiendo mucho dolor, se vio en el espejo y notó todos los golpes. Fue a buscar a su madre pero no la encontró, así que fue a confrontar a su hermana, preguntándole qué le había hecho, pero Vera ya estaba cansada de charlar, le gritó que dejara de escapar de la realidad... mamá está muerta, no pudo hacer nada contra los criminales.

They were still teenagers, trapped by those sick guys that liked to make them dress like dolls. Beth used her writer's mind to create a safe world for her to hide in, she actually went to a script she had written before where she was having interviews about her successful career, and that fantasy was filled with characters she took from the pictures around them in the house.
The big guy wanted to be with dolls that won't talk to them or react at all, Vera warned Beth to don't move, don't cry, just play dolls or she will get really hurt. She had a hard time, he took her, she found a way to hurt him but it just pissed him off, but the dolls started to make sounds and that got him distracted, she escaped from him, went to get her sister and together they find a moment to pass the front door when the transvestite went upstairs to see why the other man was screaming.

Seguían siendo adolescentes, atrapadas por esos enfermos que les gustaba hacerlas vestir como muñecas. Beth utilizó su mente de escritora para crear un mundo seguro en el que esconderse, de hecho recurrió a un guión que había escrito antes en el que tenía entrevistas sobre su exitosa carrera, y esa fantasía estaba llena de personajes que tomó de las fotos que les rodeaban en la casa.
El tipo grande quería estar con muñecas que no le hablaran ni reaccionaran en absoluto, Vera le advirtió a Beth que no se moviera, que no llorara, que sólo jugara a las muñecas o se haría mucho daño. Lo pasó mal, él la tomó, ella encontró la forma de hacerle daño pero eso solo lo enojó más, pero las muñecas empezaron a hacer sonidos y eso lo distrajo, ella escapó de él, fue a buscar a su hermana y juntas encontraron un momento para pasar por la puerta principal cuando el travesti subió a ver por qué gritaba el otro hombre.
The hope was gone for Vera, also Beth, but inside her fantasy, she saw her sister and she knew she had to go back to reality, so she did it, for her sister, she abandoned her safe world, and now, with the fierce that not having anything to lose gave her, she fought hard, wild, a doll distracted the big guy from chocking her so she ran, then she bit off chunks of skin from the other man when she found him chocking her sister.
La esperanza se esfumó para Vera, también para Beth, pero dentro de su fantasía, vio a su hermana y supo que tenía que volver a la realidad, así que lo hizo, por su hermana, abandonó su mundo seguro y ahora, con la fiereza que le daba el no tener nada que perder, luchó con fuerza, de forma salvaje, una muñeca distrajo al grandullón de estrangularla así que corrió, luego le arrancó trozos de piel al otro hombre cuando lo encontró estrangulando a su hermana.
Finally, a gunshot saved them, the policeman called to the station before the transvestite murdered him and got their partners on their way, so this new policeman didn't hesitate to kill the criminals, now finally the girls are safe.

Told you it was really good and unpredictable unlike many other movies of this genre.
Me gusto este film, a pesar que es una de las mas suaves del cineasta. Te recomiendo una que hizo en el 2008. Si esta te pareció perturbadora, aquella te causara pesadillas.
Me gustó precisamente por ese estilo, tal vez me vea otras luego.
No tengo muchas ganas de pesadillas jaja el terror es un tipo de cine que veo muy de vez en cuando.
