Lentils:

They are legumes that combine in the kitchen with everything. The word glasses ("lentes" in spanish) is said to derive from them.

I like to germinate the seeds, and then eat them with rice, in filled breads, in stews or in soups.

Today in "what to do with" I bring you a sprout of lentils that I prepared myself. I pick the seeds, wash them, and put them in the fridge to hydrate.

Las lentejas:

Son unas leguminosas que combinan en la cocina con todo. Se dice que la palabra lentes deriva de ellas.

A mi me gusta germinar las semillas, para luego comerlas en arroz, en panes rellenos, en guisados o en sopas.

Hoy en "que hago con" les traigo un germinado de lentejas que yo misma preparé. Escojo las semillas, las lavo, y las coloco en la nevera a que se hidraten.

Every day I soak them and change the water. In a week the sprouts are large enough to make preparations in the kitchen. I decided to make a soup with pumpkin and sprouts.

Todos los días las remojo y les cambio el agua. En una semana los germinados tienen el tamaño suficiente para hacer preparaciones en la cocina. Yo decidí hacer una sopa con auyama y los germinados.

In a pot I place a liter of water, the sprouts, the chopped pumpkin and some basil and rosemary leaves. I let the pumpkin soften as much as possible. Then I grind it with the potato masher. I put in a chopped onion, add a little spices, such as turmeric, ginger and salt. And I wait for it to thicken.

En una olla coloco un litro de agua, los germinados, la auyama picada en pedazos y unas hojas de albahaca y de romero. Dejo que la auyama se ablande lo más que pueda. Luego la trituro con el pisapapas. Coloco una cebolla picadita, le agrego un poco de especies, como cúrcuma, jengibre y sal. Y espero a que espese.

Then I remove it from the heat and add a little grated cheese and that's it!

Luego la retiro del fuego, le agrego un poco de queso rallado y listo. A degustar.

What is it about?

This contest deals with themes related to nature. For example, asking what do you do with turmeric? You can develop a theme about how you use them, how you prepare them, do you like them? Do you not like them? How about drawing them?, and etc... your creativity is the limit.

Es un concurso semanal, comienza el viernes y termina el jueves por la tarde. Para comenzar de nuevo el viernes.

Termina a las 6pm hora Caracas-Venezuela (GMT-4).
Daré el tema, y ​​tienes 6 días para desarrollar tu publicación. Después de las 6pm, no aceptaré más entradas y los ganadores se publicarán junto con el nuevo tema de la semana.
