Splinterlands 8m Marketcap / ETH to 2000$ by 1st March 2021? - Predict Yes/No with PAL at dublup.io

(Edited)

Now I know why I've been steadily collecting PAL for the past 20 months or so - so I can gamble it all away on https://dublup.io/

Or maybe I'll double-up? Either way, this looks like fun and something else to occupy my time with on Hive.

Announcement post with @nealmcspadden doing the intro video is here peakd, hive.blog.

When I read the @minnowsupport pal whitepaper update this morning and noticed the new distribution percentages, I must admit to being a little disheartened.

Distribution:
Staking: 30%
Mining: 60%
PoMod: 5%
PoB: 5%

Basically, I have no miners and no desire to own any, and 'only' 5% for PoB (content/curation), that seems pretty low. I have been staking since the start though, and now that there is use case for liquidity, this could work out well over time.

https://dublup.io/ - predict and play with PAL

Soo, gambling, baddd, right? Yeah it's not everyone's cup of tea, and I've lost my shirt a few times on drunken nights out, but that was against the house and not others. Peer v peer is much more fun, and the trolling potential is huge. They covered that already on the site.....

Tell me what the site is about FFS

It's like Betfair..... but we can set our own markets up in minutes, and use PAL that we already own (if you didn't dump at .03).

If you have no ideas for markets, you can do what I have done and bet the result of a couple of markets created by @nealmcspadden.

I said No to

and No to

And I think I've gone the right way with both. I actually think ETH will pass 2000 this year, but not by March 1st. Disagree? bet against me. Also, Splinterlands marketcap does look set to pass 8 million, but in 24 days?

PAL Market Watch

PAL is up on the news, but not as high as it went 5 days ago. Perhaps aggy slipped PAL into the Wallstreetbets Reddit? :)

Hey leo guys, 'Last' looks wrong to me?

Alright, the shill is almost over, time for some....

Notes, suggestions, feedback

Firstly, a dark mode option please! I'm writing this post in 'lights out' mode on leofinance.io and my screenshots are blinding me :)

I was expecting to see the Markets I was involved in when selecting 'Your Markets', not the ones I had created.

image.png

No biggie, the markets you have shares in are under Transaction History.

image.png

The Market ID link will take you to the event but it would be nice to have some more details on this page - person who created the market and name of event, at least?

I have enough PAL to register for being an Oracle, but this is delegated out to another account and so shows as 0 - could this be changed to include delegated PAL too?

image.png

100 PAL to create a market sounds too much in my opinion based on my understand of what the creator gets back which is 1% (f.a.q). I suspect that until the site gets going, most market creators will be losing out, but who knows.

It's early days and I'm sure the site will be worked on - I didn't find any bugs so that's a good start.

New stuff on Hive is always welcome and this could appeal to some of the leo crew and further afield. Good luck to those behind the project, and try not to lose your shirt, or your PAL.

Cheers!

I have enough PAL to register for being an Oracle

What does it mean when your an oracle? I have heard the term before but never knew what it meant. TIA

You get to vote on the result (which is a yes/no decision and should be pretty straight-forward), and you share 4% of the PAL.

Once the event is finished, Oracles will validate the outcome of the market and 95% of the PAL market is distributed to the accounts holding winning shares, 4% of the PAL is distributed among the Oracles that validated the market, and 1% is distributed to the market creator.

February is a short month... 😝

I think i'll either win both or lose both - hoping for a slow Feb, and will blame @edicted if not as he has been calling a shit one for a while now!

Thanks for the info, I did buy some cheap PAL the moment there was an announcement it was going to give a proper use case a while back. Not nearly enough to become an oracle though.

I tested it out voting no on the Splinterlands market cap being above 8 Million on March 1st and ETH being above 2000$. It is kind of beyond me how it works exactly as you don't know the odds you are getting in advance. If more PAL comes in on 'my side' side and none on the other, that means my odds basically get slashed completely?

The odds aren't known until the end I guess.

If there are 99 shares on one side and 1, which you own, on the other, then you are going to get a nice payout I think?!

Majority of my crypto is invested in Splinterlands in the form of cards, I do wish it could break through $8 mill by March. What I would like to see more though is steady growth in DEC rather than decline. Now that plot lands is done we can all see DEC is crashing.

Splinterlands hitting 8M is probably inevitable at this point. Nice PALnet developments, I hope it hits 10c.

Good luck with your bets!

There was another upcoming use for PAL I think that was mentioned in LEO finances latest roundtable. I can't remember what it was though. Or maybe this is it. 😂

Sadly Splinterlands 8m Marketcap is very deceiving. No doubt the company is doing great and is able to sell more and more cards but the individual card values suck. Alpha and Beta cards aren't doing jack and all their potential value is eaten away by the new cards with better features.

I agree there is a fair amount of smoke n mirrors in that 8m valuation. My hope is that, as my deck is mostly alpha and beta, the older cards hold/gain value as collector cards - if the game is around in 5/10 years then these 1st/2nd gen cards will hold/gain value that way?

And yeah, I'm getting spanked by these newer cards!

I guess the only real hope is the legacy cards gain value in their use for Land whatever that is. I have stopped playing the game entirely and just hope to be able to check card value one day to be able to sell at a slight profit.
