Axie Infinity Plans Events While Game Remains Unplayable

I woke up this morning with a newsletter from Sky Mavis (not Mavis Hub, as I was mistaken earlier. Mavis Hub is their app). With the shit show going on with their servers being overloaded and unplayable for days, I would expect news on the solution or at least, their progress on scaling problem.

But no. It was an announcement for latest glorious event with a new separate server for the sole purpose of hosting tournaments. It would be great, if they hadn't been whining all the time about how short-staffed they had been and that the recent exploding growth was unforeseeable and that the game is still in the alpha state so problem is expected.

Short-staffed they are, and yet a whole team and sever is dedicated to events while players missing on their earnings and worse, on awesome gameplay of Axie world(/s).

Unexpected their growth was, and yet they have been quite intentionally promoting how great the game is and what a great chance of earning offers. And while the problem with gaming persists, they and their spokesmen keep shilling for the game without any warnings of what players may encounter.

The game has been in alpha state for three years now and in the mean time, they have done a great job on upgrading their market site and in-house wallet Ronin, hosting events and making money. However, players' experience hasn't been their priority and we just have to deal with it.

At this point, Sky Mavis doesn't seem to give two hoots about existing players any more and are only trying to attract more people to their game. After they have made their costly purchases of axies, sometimes with all of their savings, and realized that their axies are unable to participate in any kind of gameplay whatsoever, Sky Mavis would happily turn a deaf ear to their appeals. Mind you, any complaints about server problems or requests of compensations have been met with scorn and banning threats. At the end of the day, Axie Infinity seems only benefits the company, their shills and whales who sell axies at ridiculous prices.

If you are considering putting money in to this game, wait until Sky Mavis shows any intentions of fixing their problem or you'll risk losing your fund. You won't lose anything by waiting, but if you jump in now, you can't earn anything. And for those who are thinking about withdrawing, this farce from Sky Mavis may go on for a while before they are satisfied with milking new players, so you may as well trying to recover your initial investment before pulling out, if you ever consider it.

As for me, I have earned enough to cover the cost. I'll stay and see how things unfold with Axie Infinity. At least now, I have stop trying to log in every day just to be frustrated losing connection in every battle.
