Stamps - History of Russian Trains - Locomotive Type 2-2-0 Series Bv 1863-67 - USSR 1978 - Michel 4719 - my hobby

Greetings friends!

Today, you can see the latest postage stamp from Series History of Russian Trains and the entire five-piece postage stamp series.

This postage stamp shows us one of the first passenger steam locomotives, which cruised back in 1867 across the vastness of Tsarist Russia - Locomotive Type 2-2-0.

He already looks very solid lol.

The denomination of this postage stamp is 20 kopecks of the USSR and this is a lot of money for 1978 with an average salary of 120 rubles.

This was the salary of my mother, who worked in a design bureau as an engineer.

But at the same time, my parents found the opportunity to pamper their son and increase his collection of postage stamps.

Most likely, I will do the same.

I am not going to sell my stamps, but on the contrary, I will be looking for opportunities to replenish my collection for my children.

You can see the price range in the Russian auction.

De facto and de jure, there, these stamps will be cheaper than in the USA, or in another country of the world.

Average cost of postage stamps delivery, about 5.5 USD and if. in your collection, one stamp is missing, it is more profitable to buy the whole series than one postage stamp, and sell the surplus.

The circulation of this brand is 5,100,000, which is exactly how many complete series exist in the world. No, there are fewer of them. Many postage stamps have already been lost forever.

In the "Important" section, you can see some tips for those who think that philately would settle in their home.

Important!

  1. Please note that the cost of shipping postage stamps to other countries can be many times more expensive than the postage stamp itself, approximately $ 5.5.

  2. I see that it is not profitable to purchase one postage stamp if, suddenly, you need to replenish your collection. It is always more profitable to purchase the entire series, and, surplus, to change, or sell.

  3. If you decide to buy a postage stamp online, be careful. sometimes sellers use stock images. But this option is unacceptable. You need to see exactly the product that you are buying.

  4. If you are afraid that the postage stamp sellers will want to deceive you, you are doing the right thing, do not doubt it.

  5. To get started with this hobby, buy a good magnifying glass, tweezers with flat and thin edges and a stockbook for postage stamps, they will come in handy.

To be continued.

I edited a photo in the program PhotoDirector, which I also installed on my smartphone.

For my publications, I do not use stock photographs, it is fundamentally important for me to use photographs that I have made with my own hands for publication and I can name them - authorial work.

Okay! That’ll be very interesting to know. I reckon local engineers built these trains themselves?!

For us, we imported trains from England and European countries!

Outstanding advice! Very true with any type of purchase be it collectible postage stamps or Pokemon Cards! Thank you so much for sharing your hobby/investment.

I do like trains. As a young boy I also collected stamps. Not so much as an investment but just a hobby. I have no idea where those stamps are today 😁.

Thank you for your excellent comment and deep thought. You are absolutely right, this applies to any type of transaction.
So far, it's hard for me to call it an investment, in view of the not very large volumes of my collection, but I am thinking about increasing it in the future. If you manage to find your postage stamps in the attic, or in the closet, I am sure you will remember many interesting things while looking at them)) Have a great day!
