HF24 - Posting Finance DIRECTLY onto LEOFINANCE

Recently I was chewed out for not posting to the correct front end web sites..

I was thrilled to see https://peakd.com/ USED show payouts for many of the registered tribe owners. This function has ceased ever since HIVE which forked away from STEEM a while back.

The date for October 6th in the HF24 blockchain code has already passed- did we actually fork? No..

Some great comments came out of the Mancave:

"To me this is watching the birth of Hive...we’ll finally have our own chain ID".

"Maybe the witnesses should have just forced the HF on the date slated and then have people complain when the apps dont work...or perhaps they should never give any date and them people will complain about them not communicating and doing nothing. Or maybe just do like Ned and force the HF through regardless of the consequences to all the other applications"

My opinion is varied. I'm not terribly upset with how Hive has been functioning to date. However I do understand the want and the need to identify Hive as something separate and unique. We do need the hard fork. It would seem the pendulum has swung the other way into over-cautious territory. Remember under STEEM we had to wait next to a week for the dapps and witnesses to get a functioning chain back to par. Perhaps avoidance of such errors is the right approach. Again, we aren't STEEM; we are HIVE.

In the end this fork won't show much of a difference to us on the surface. Peakd will function the same, more witnesses will adapt in the background without much of a hiccup (hopefully). This isn't the fork that will bring SMT or anything like that. We will wait and see. Until then, as long as the chain is functioning I am happy. Let's hope it will all change slowly in the background without waiting a week for things to be functional again.

Post edit: Just a second ago I was checking PEAKD.. and I got this node error. So we may be in the midst of what we were talking about. The test will be how long the chain catches up. Leofinance.io is working perfectly, while PEAKD may have some issues.
