DCity 3rd Edition Is Here Let's Take A Look

I thought the day would never come! Well I had hopes it just got delayed which is understandable as pretty much every deadline ends up getting pushed back in dev worlds due to unforeseen things coming up.

As of I believe yesterday 3rd edition cards are now availed on DCity!
Why do I write about this on LeoFinance? It's honestly an investment over really being a "game" it's kind of one of those resource harvesting games where you pack rat the heck out of everything you mine. In this case though you're mining SIM and various other tokens from your city.

New Cards

Construction Site
Office
Barracks
Power Line
Train Station
Parking
Ice Cream Shop
Pizzeria
Barber Shop
Church
Warehouse
Prison
Fire Department
Construction Company

SpaceSIM Company
Spa
Military Base
Court
Music Store
Car Dealership
TV Station
Graveyard
Ruins

These including older building and tech can be combined into other buildings. These other buildings have a number of various effects such as earning cards to help prevent or mitigate the effects of global issues that come up.

New Tech

Yep! Even new tech has arrived!
Economy
Health

There's actually a lot to this and far to much to go over here in this post but they mostly focused around offices and churches/sick. You can get to this by clicking on the Technologies tab at the top grey menu.

Overall there is A LOT to this game now. With the combination of global events plus combination of buildings there are really endless possibilities now to grow your city. This wasn't just a small update there was so much added including a robust market with charts and all the good stuff. I see people sinking a lot more crypto into this game asap!

I Get It

I understand these types of games are not for everyone but I've noticed resource harvesting type games like this often have a high amount of INVESTORS in them. It kind of taps into that mentality of building and stacking wealth and here we can do it in a gaming type format that is rewarding and fun but doesn't eat up a lot of time.

The question is. Will you be playing DCity or getting involved? It has a pretty high point of entry of either 800 SIM or 4 Hive to get started.

Let me know in the comments and if you already have a city of your own snapshot a picture and add it or link to a recent post of yours where you wrote about your city.

The interface still feels confusing to me. I'll learn it, but for now, I need to put it off until I have some time.

yeah, I feel like the interface just got more complicated with this update. It's going to keep a good amount of people from actually using it or onboarding new people to it.

This was a much needed upgrade, since it had been quite some time some improvements have been made. As for me, I hate the new interface, to be honest. Too much confusion, redundant items, and a lot of information completely irrelevant; a clean interface turned into a mess. There are some great improvements, such as the market, but the interface and the lack of official posts to keep players up to date make me much less enthusiast about this edition than what I had anticipated. Hope things improve slowly!

I feel that. I almost wish it would have been rolled out in parts so that it was less to take in each time. This is like a full blown redo of UI, how it works, combining building and more!

Finally, the 3rd edition is here that we have been waiting for so long. Combining buildings and new cards are super cool! I feel there is a lot of information on the interface, it seems confusing.

Now I find a hard time figuring how whether a city has overpopulation or underpopulation. If the city has more population than needed, it will reduce the SIM income. Do you see any easy way to see this?

Yes, City > Map on the left hand sum middle area is y our population and how much of it is unemployed and the cost it has to you when you mouse over it. looks like a person and then a group of people.

I love dCity and I hate to say this, but they took a nice clean game that was easy to understand and created a complicated mess of it. Example: there are TINY selection arrows at the bottom right in the market, When you click on them, you can barely see the content scrolling by as the window is so small, that it often cuts part of the content off. There is way too much white space (which is normally a good thing) and too much clicking around in order to find stuff.

Even logging out is odd. There's a garbage can and an arrow below it. The garbage can makes me think it is going to delete the game account, so I don't click on it. Hovering over the can and arrow, reveals nothing as a tooltip. So when I "log out" I just close the window now and assume it logs me out. Is this part unfinished?

It almost feels like this wasn't playtested with outsiders. I just wanted to buy a building and finally gave up as there was way too much going on. Give us the option of having the old market back, where I could actually buy stuff easily and let the whales enjoy this new one. I have to agree, the new interface is so busy, that I can see new people being scared away from the game. They need to strip this thing way back, inject some much-needed color and make a "lite" version and allow this complicated monstrosity to be the "Pro" version.

Don't mean to offend, but that's my honest opinion.
