Bozzlife: A Christmas Miracle!

Okay, I know it is actually the day after Christmas, but truth be told I was spending time with my family and just enjoying the season. In fact, that time over the past couple of days was probably the greatest present of the year.

The second greatest present would have to be the numbers I saw when I looked at my coin fee on Christmas day.

I seriously thought it wasn't going to be until early next year that we saw BTC break $25k. I am not complaining at all that it happened earlier than I expected.

A couple other exciting things happened the past couple of days for me as well.

LTC

About two years ago when I first started using Robinhood, I noticed that they also let you purchase cryptocurrencies. I quickly snapped up 2.6 LTC at a price of about $77 a piece. Imagine my dismay when I realized you can't move your crypto out of Robinhood.

It is basically just a place to buy and sell cryptocurrency for profit (or loss). Moving your crypto to a cold wallet or a place where you can covert it or actually use it is a reality that isn't going to happen.

Shortly after I made that realization the price tanked and stayed tanked for a long time. I told myself that I was going to wait until LTC hit $100 and then I was going to sell. Just so I could be out of that "non-liquid" situation.

Well, a short time ago LTC hit $100 but I felt I could do better. So I held off and the price dropped back down. Finally, I told myself that $125 was my new number and I set a limit sell to ensure that I would actually follow through with it.

Yesterday that limit sell was fulfilled and I was able to make a decent little profit off the LTC I was holding on Robinhood.

I still hold some LTC in a mobile wallet, so I don't really feel like I have shot myself in the foot now that the price is over $130.

FIO

The other exciting thing actually happened just this morning. I woke up to find alerts that BTC had hit an new ATH overnight and I was excited to check Coin Gecko to see what the price was currently at. Seeing it close to $26k I quickly jumped over to my mobile wallet to see how much my fraction of a BTC was worth.

I was really happy to have a message popup when I opened my Mycelium wallet about their move to support the FIO protocol.

FIO is a project by @lukestokes that is making strides to bring cryptocurrency to the masses. I started researching FIO a while ago because EOS Detroit is a BP/Witness (whatever you want to call it) on the FIO network and as I have mentioned I recently started doing some contract work for them.

FIO works with many existing wallets and exchanges to allow users to use simple and easy to remember nicknames to send and receive crypto versus having to deal with long and complicated keys.

It is a great project with a lot of potential and I am excited to see Mycelium begin support for the protocol.

That's all I've got for you today, I am hoping tomorrow I can throw out another rare weekend post.

FIO sounds brilliant in terms of easing the use process of cryptos especially for new users.

I honestly hope you haven't had that sell order on LTC. It has just started rallying the way I see it. Many alts that are lagging a lot behind BTC start gaining traction.

Nah, it is okay. I couldn't really do anything with it being stuck on Robinhood anyway. That is probably one of the biggest drawbacks to the program I have found so far.

Happy to hear you had some good news. I know a lot of the Bitcoin lovers are cheering, but it really is just about making money for many of them. I am more interested in how crypto can change lives. Hope 2021 is prosperous for you.

I hope so as well. Holding a bit of BTC at $100k or so would definitely be life changing. Really the more exciting part about this post was the FIO integration. That made me smile quite a bit.

I'm glad to hear you had a great Christmas! What an incredible past few days it's been for Bitcoin. $25k on the 25th and now, as I'm writing this, BTC is seriously flirting with $26k on the 26th. Hopefully the trend continues.

For sure, at least until the beginning of the year. $1k on the first would be bad! I hope your family had a really great Christmas as well. We scaled everything back, but still had the chance to spend some socially distanced time together.

Yeah, it has been a lot of fun watching everything on my blockfolio be green for most days. I'm one of those guys that liquidated all of my ETH back when it was tanking. Good thing I held on to most everything else. I don't have much in the way of LTC but i do have some. It's pretty exciting to see all of this happen though. I never heard of FIO but it seems like a good project. I'll go and check that out now.

I'd really like to see the alts doing more right now, but I know that will come with time.

I've not come across FIO before but if it makes crypto easier for the masses then it's a winner in my book!

Seeing the price of Bitcoin where it is now is just amazing really. We're in new territory and who knows where it will go to from here! I'm just keeping what I have I think until I really need it but if it helps to buy a house then I may have to rethink that strategy!

Merry (slightly late) Xmas!

Thanks, to you as well. I agree. BTC is a very long hold for me. It would have to get up to 300k or 400k for what I hold to be worth pulling out and paying the taxes for it.

Yeah exactly, the taxes are a big deterrent for me! Especially if I go above the threshold of gains made, suddenly 40% of my profits will get eaten away which makes it pointless so might as well just add what I can to the sats and if price predictions at the high end become true, we're laughing!

SO EXCITING!! Yeah, everyday I have been watching and waiting for the correction, but not yet. I also didn't expect this for another year yet. My wallets are looking healthy right now. I had a few surprises as well.. waiting to see what happens is the hardest part.
