One thing I find boring is the proposal of Dapplr never received their funding. I just hope is not another failure like Appics.

Yeah and that's what raises suspicion that actually, whales don't want this thing to go mainstream.
The way it is now is already a big drop in profits vs old days. If masses join, and only join to interact with mediocre content. Rewards will fall more and be averaging a few dollars. Because Hive value doesn't go up just because masses join. Money must keep coming in.

That's why I think blocktrades wants to only focus development on the backbone because he believes that will attract business and entrepreneurs, and they do bring money.

People don't want to face a difficult truth though. That is, that a lot of people left. Even if this thing gets a revamp. It's hard to return hype to something that's ran stale for so long. Another thing is, a new platform that enters the crypto space and DOES do social well from the get go. Will end up making all these hopeful projects obsolete.

Could be. I do know a couple whales withheld their votes because the proposal for the app was not open source. The Dapplr team said they cannot do that for competitive reasons which is probably true. Blocktrades was one who was open about his view on that.

The claim that we are closed but will open it once completed is akin to crying wolf. Most heard it before only for it to not come true.

As for Appics, arent they still running on Steem or did they fold? I havent kept up with it.

What ever happened to Partiko?? And isn't Appics still going and supposedly posting to Hive too soon? I've just put Dapplr on my phone by the way so will check it out… and keep an eye on the other 2 you mention!

I lose track of Appics, the software never worked on my smartphone, and I give up completely.
