Cardano Summit 2021 And Coti
Today I hopped onto the Cardano Summit and logged in only to be highly confused. One had to use an avator to move around on the back of a turtles back which formed an imaginary land. I thought no this can't be as all I wanted to was watch the announcements and now I have to wander around and find the screen or main stage which never happened.
This lead me to searching you tube for a live stream which thankfully another avator let us view through his avator eyes. This may be fun for some but please give us a choice as I would have missed the whole thing otherwise. I can imagine the idea was cool in a board room but for real purposes not so great.

I didn't quite make it that far and found it quite stupid as my avator didn't even move. Maybe it was just me but then found that others couldn't move either.
I mentioned the other day COTI was going to be used for providing the payment resources for Carsdano's DeFi called Ardano and that is just the start of things to come. We already know from our dealings in DeFi the real winners are the ones who have use cases like paying fees.
I am sure someone can highlight how big a deal this really is as I know it is big but have no idea how big.
I have to admit Charles Hoskinson may be highly intelligent, but is not very charismatic and it is a hard job to stay awake when he speaks. The big COTI announcements will happen tomorrow even though what has been announced is already big having control of Cardano's DeFi payment system. What is expected is some the announcement of a few new merchants and they should be big ones being added to the Cardano Coti payment system.
As you can see from the above image COTI is well entrenched in the Cardano eco system and still DeFi is coming or as Charles puts it RealFi stating it will be regulated as he stated more controls are needed to ensure it's security and governance. They spoke about proper loans to famers etc who have no access to loans right now but this would create an ability to lend through an online rating and ID which more like a trust score.
So tomorrow is the big announcements and will be watching to see what they are.

Very interesting. It does seem as though COTI will be a major player in the future. I know what you are talking about with the avatar thing. I had similar issues when I tried to do the virtual Hivefest thing last year. It just didn't really work out that well.

The Avatar thing was irritating and eventually found a stream to watch. Boring for most parts but was only waiting for the Coti announcement really which we kind of knew already but needed confirmation. We all know how rumors start and many are unfounded.
