Happy New Year And No Specific Hive Goals
No goals set for this year as the thought process is just to grow as big as I can supporting others along the way. I see no difference from day 1 when I joined Hive 45 months ago.
First of all a Happy New Year to everyone as I am now back in the land of the living with my internet up and running. The 7 day holiday visiting family and friends is thankfully over and things can get back to normal. Breaks are always good and this was my biggest break in the last 4 years away from Hive. Not entirely true as I stole the odd hour here and there when the internet was available.
Last year I had set myself some Hive goals and soon realised around June any growth is good growth as I was being side tracked. First of all I had a 10 000 Leo target in my sights back last January before there were other priorities thrown in the way.
We had CUB and Kingdoms with DeFi which swallowed a hefty chunk of Leo wrapped into BLeo. Then there was LBI which swallowed up another 2000 Leo or so which when added together easily surpasses the 2200 shortfall from my original target. I have 7800 Leo and frankly happy with that and will just continue on my merry way growing and staking whatever I can.
With Hive I set no goals as it is reliant on support from everyone here and I never take that for granted. Honestly the rewards on posts vary so much if I make 5 Hive or 100 Hive I am grateful and feel fortunate to be involved in this great community.
In August we had @empoderat launch the SEED token so that took away from my Hive growth as no one knows what is going to be thrown our way next. These are opportunities you cannot ignore because of targets and those $400 Hive are now worth close to $2500 so it was definitely the right call.
My Hive wallet is sitting with 63250 HP and that is a great starting point for 2022. 100 000 HP is my target and there is no time frame set. With HBD offering 12% that will slow things down as that is more often than not getting staked and not converted to Hive like it was before. I see this as a growing period just like the last 4 years and there is no difference.
Again we have air drops coming shortly and trying to work out the next 12 months with a thumb suck on growth is just that a thumb suck. This is like day 1 and any Hive is good Hive as staking and being able to support others with a vote having value has always been my goal. I am not into the 5% votes as that is not me and why I will always give something decent. You take the time to read my post and that is my thank you for the appreciation of commenting.
I expect 2022 to be a big year for everyone on Hive as things are developing and progressing at pace. When I say Hive it includes all the tribes as that is where the communities are these days. The aim of staying active and supporting others is the aim for this year like the previous 45 months with no goals set, but to just grow.
Lets make 2022 a great year which I am sure it will be.

So how did it feel to be 7 days without writing? I am sure you got plenty of posts to make. Happy new year, let's keep on the hard work! Welcome back.
I cheated a bit so did a few posts but nothing like normal. Drank too much which is normal with family get togethers and having to find my way home via the backstreets avoiding the festive road blocks. Happy to be back as the humidity in Durban is not pleasant plus internet at relatives was not great. Happy New Year to all of you and look forward to meeting up when you do come.

Yeah I get you about the humidity in Durban, it reminds me of the UAE, the air becomes unbreathable.
Yes, will let you know when we finally find a route back home, for now we thought of going through Spain then take a plane to SA, but the Spanish border is closed until the end of January.

Curfew has been scrapped but knowing this lot after the parties have finished will enforce it again. Drove through Umhlanga town center on New Years eve as had to avoid the freeways. Place was heaving with party goers.

Setting goals is easy, achieving them is another story. I am aiming for 2500 LEO this year, and 20k Hive, but, like you said, every Hive received from a vote should be appreciated! Have a great year!
I guess once you get to a certain point tracking looses its appeal, and you go organic, I sort of feel the same.

I think you may be right about tracking loosing it's appeal. Doing the best we can for the community and ourselves is what counts at the end of the day as growth happens no matter what.
