Who Is Buying Hive? | Top HIVE Buyers
The price of HIVE has been in a down trend in the last few weeks, causing some of the Hivers a bit nervous. It has dropped from around 0.25$ to 0.15$.
Some have been waiting for a drop like this and are now buying into it. Lets take a look who are the top Hivers that have been buying the dip and feel confident about the future of Hive.
Note on the method used here to check the top buyers. I’m basically looking at the withdrawals from the exchanges. These are the visible buys, recorded on the blockchain.
Buying and holding on an exchange is not showing on the blockchain as the funds remains in the exchange’s wallets. What this means is that there is more buying going around, but the users bellow have decided to withdraw their funds. Let’s honor them.
The period that we will be looking is August 24 – September 24, 2020.
At the end a data for the top Power Up accounts will be provided as well.
Top HIVE Buyers
Here is the chart for the top Hive buyers.
As mentioned above, these are buyers that have bought and withdraw their HIVE from exchanges. Also transfers between exchanges have been excluded.
The @encrypt3dbr0k3r account has been making waves in the last period, buying out huge amount of HIVE and its on the top of the list.
The chart above is limited to 1M for better visibility, but the total amount of HIVE bought in the period by encrypt3dbr0k3r is 2.6M! This is massive.
The @shai-2 account is on the second place with around 250k. This account doesn’t seem very active on Hive so it might be an exchanges account. I have done some clean up on exchanges account but can’t tell for sure I got them all.
The @sm-usd on the third place with 230k HIVE bought. This is an account related to Splinterlands or maybe some Splinterlands player.
Some other know names in the top 20.
Next let’s look a bit down the rankings, 21 to 40. Here is the chart.
Most of the above are know Hivers. They have made buys in the range 20k to 40k HIVE.
In the period above, there is more than 900 accounts that have bought more than 1 HIVE and withdraw it from an exchange. A total of 6.4M HIVE was withdrew from exchanges accounts to hive accounts.
Times like these shows how important is the community. If there are enough community members that are looking at Hive long term, they wont mind the deep, maybe even welcomed and will buy in.
Top Accounts That Powered Up
Next the chart for top Hivers that powered up in the period. Havin in mind the Hive power down period of 13 weeks, powering up is quite a commitment.
@encrypt3dbr0k3r is absolutely dominating here as well. With 2.6M HIVE powered up. With this encrypt has become pretty influential on the Hive blockchain.
@blocktrades is on the second place in terms of powering up, with 213k HP and @oliverschmid on the third place with 100k. The last one on the chart above is around 40k HP.
The 21 to 40 chart looks like this.
These accounts have powered up between 15k to 30k in the period.
In the period above, there is more than 2000 accounts that powered up more than 1 HIVE. A total of 5.6M HIVE was powered up, not including the HP from inflation 😊.
All the best

Dear dalz,
Thanks for revealing the stats.
Contrary to price, stats look good 😌
Thanks!
This stay basically shows the accounts that withdrew from an exchange then. It is hard to tell if they bought it recently or not.
So it is more like "top withdrawals from exchange" list
Posted Using LeoFinance
Yep, true ... they might have bought now, or maybe had them on exchanges. Its probably a mix of both.
Its because of this I have noted this a few times in the post itself.
Withdrawing it from exchanges to your wallet is still something.
This doesn't look nice for a title :)

Lol okay okay I concede that it doesn't look like a nice title !ENGAGE 20.

tokens. At least I bought recently. No sane person would keep larger amounts on exchanges for a longer time.

Congrats!
You can never know what will do market do next, bit historically 15 cents HIVE is pretty low :)
Always love the depth of your research. There are still some taking advantage of the opportunity to buy HIVE when the prices present a "sale".
Good to see.

Comments @encrypt3dbr0k3r in a recent comment of his - looks like maybe we've got a power user firmly on board HIVE. Very nice!
And those that cry out against centralization, take note and follow the lead!
It's what I call "putting your money where your mouth is". 🤠
Yep ... although I think this is not a completely "new" user .... but a exciting one deciding to go big.
@encrypt3dbr0k3r originally joined in July 2018, and has clearly made a decision. Current STEEM balance: $6.
Not an isolated case I think.
Was looking at some of the others too.
@shai-2 – joined Dec. 2019 – zero blog activity, but sold 429,000 STEEM in Feb-April – is now buying back HIVE (after previously re-entering STEEM in the spring and exiting completely once again a couple of months ago). Current STEEM account value: $176. That looks like another strong commitment.
This is good to see and we need to celebrate their initiative with them!
Hey hey look at me I made rank 11.
Like a boss.
