dCity - What's a Poor Mayor to do?
Taking a quick glance at your town can leave an industrious Mayor breathless. With rising tax rates and plummeting income, what's a poor beleaguered city manager to do? Well, I don't know about you, but I plan to keep the future firmly in mind. My thoughts are, that now is not the time to skimp, but is an opportunity to build infrastructure that will put our city on solid footing.
Optimize
Despite all of the hand-wringing, one thing I do have is faith that @gerber will continue to ensure that this kick-ass game gets even better. With the third edition cards on the way, the current trials are just a bump in the road. If anything, it'll shake out those who need to move on to other things, allowing the rest of us to pick up some cheap SIM tokens. That's exactly what I'm starting to do.
Development has not ceased in my little town, where I try to add something new each day. I invested in several events to keep the place hopping, which had the effect of boosting my edu percentage close to the max, with the hope that we might just get some cool tech out of it. If not, having some educated citizens can only be a good thing.
Hidden assets
I'm also doing things outside of the game to generate some residual SIM, in the form of other tokens that provide a daily payout in a variety of coin. The hope is that over time, these little snowballs of crypto will help to offset the current losses due to inflation.
Now would also be a great time to invest in cards that have the effect of increasing your income. Spending a little money now (as I did yesterday) will continue to payoff down the line. What are your plans to keep your city going in these challenging times?

I have been having a hard time growing my city. I just can't seem to find a good balance and then the SIM is coming in so slowly that I can really only do something about once a week. Picking up some of those investment tokens on Hive-Engine has helped.

I had to think outside the box as well in order to deal with the drop in income. However, he did talk about this last year which gave me time to prepare. For instance, if you invested in a lot of solar plants, the dyson card would provide a boost. I do believe this will be a temporary thing once the third edition cards come out. Makes the game more interesting, though! :)

I think I am pulling in about 200 SIM a day. I know I could probably do more, but I don't have the cards to support it right now.
