Lion For A Month - Greatest Adventure Ever!

The Greatest Adventure

I have been an active, engaging Lion for exactly one month and to celebrate my one month anniversary, I figured I would share some details from this amazing and life-changing adventure.. Before I lead you towards the 'meat' of this post, I just want to tell you that I know literally everything about the so called 'honeymoon'-period, where everything seems like rainbows and sunshine, but I actually think that my honeymoon period on LeoFinance is over.. And I will tell you why:

A month may not seem like a long time to be in a relationship with someone but it’s a significant marker for the future of your relationship. By the time you’re four weeks in, there's a bunch of things that should have happened if there's a chance for anything long-term..

While that is about love and relationships between human beings, it actually fits LeoFinance as well. At least to some extent, for me personally. Now, let's dive into the 'meat' and talk about the greatest adventure.

2435 LEO

Since I joined exactly one month ago, or since I became an active Lion I have published 37 posts in total, which equates to ~1.2 article per day. 15 out of those 37 articles have been featured as "curator's picks", (almost 50% of the articles I have published!)

By looking at the rewards I've earned, and by adding the current pending rewards as well, I have earned a total of 2435 LEO. Divided by 31, we get 78.54. That's the average amount of LEO I have made on a daily basis from the articles I have published since I joined.

As authors gets to keep 50% of the rewards, this gives me a total of 1217.5 LEO in total or 39.27 LEO per day. This is without curation rewards and rewards from comments.

With those rewards, I was actually able to put 'hitmeasap' on the map and I managed to become the top 20 author, in terms of rewards, after only 23 days of being an active Lion.

Since the birth of Initiative 10, an initiative to increase engagement, LeoFinance added a weekly chart for the top users by comments in their weekly stats. I was able to reach the top 4 my first week with 124 comments. On week 2, I wasn't able to keep my previous form up, so it was a free fall down to the last place in the weekly leaderboards. I managed to make 81 comments during week 2.

As I knew I would have some more free time during week 3, I figured I would strive to break my own personal record, (124 comments), and I can say proudly that I was able to do exactly what I was striving for. I did not only manage to reach my all time high with my 202 comments, I also managed to land in the top 3 of the leaderboard for week 3.

In these three weeks, I have made a total of: 407 comments. That's an average of 13.12 comments per day since I joined which is in line with the goal of Initiative 10. However, I am striving for an average of 200 comments per week, which would be 28.57 comments per day. So that gives me room for improvement.

Honeymoon Period Or Not?

Is my passion and dedication, strive and efforts all due to the honeymoon period? Have I done these things, achieved these things and spent this time so far, all because of the honeymoon period?

  • Perhaps. I don't really know..

What I do know is this; I have not been rewarded greatly for everything I have published, but I have obviously had great results. The most important part though, is to be consistent. Put in time and effort and you will be rewarded for your hard work eventually..

  • I am living proof of that.

I continue to grind, engage and publish content because I love the opportunity. Because I truly believe in LeoFinance as a project and as something life-changing. The best part is probably the fact that I have started to truly believe in Hive again..

  • To infinity and beyond!

@onealfa.leo is amazing. His incredible support obviously moves me up the ladder so to speak, but what I like the most about him is his frequent and what seems to be endless support for initiative 10 and to reward engagement. It is the perfect way to distribute tokens across the platform and to strengthen the community.

Thank you. Hard work is rewarded, it's just a matter of when. That is part of the reason for consistency being important. Grinding takes time.

Thanks! Yeah, I haven't had this much fun in a long time on Hive, so the time and work doesn't even feel that hard. You've done a tremendous job as well.

Let's keep pushing! :)

Way to go @hitmeasp, I rolled out a lot of comments but with no posts. You being able to do all of that and reply to people on your blog is awesome! Cheers!

I have always considered my audience to be my greatest asset, so replying to comments is the least I can do. Back on Hive though, for a rather long period of time, I focused more or less entirely on my own blog so I didn't make much comments on other content..

That has changed with LEO, but it's a work in progress. Thanks for the support. :)

Love the dedication to Leo. I'm inspired to make the comment leaderbord soon. It's a fun way to spark engagement and lets creators know they have "eyeballs" on their posts. KEEP GOING! :)

Well done, i think this is quite good, i got 17 days from the time i discovered this platform, as i was looking to learn a bit more about the games on Hive platform, especially splinterlands. i think i have around 30-40 LEO from the posts, but i do not know where to look for it yet. The wallet seems to be complicated, i see 4 wallets there. with savings wrapped and more. Completelly confused.

(Edited)

The LEO wallet is what you should look at in terms of your Leo power/stake and liquid Leo. I can see that it might look complicated for someone new, but it's easy to understand- and navigate after just a few minutes if you look at it. You'll get used to it quickly. :)

Congrats on your achievement. I don't know if I can achieve such feats but my primary goal has been to engage with contents I enjoy.

My primary goal was to engage and be part of a living community and LEOFinance has delivered in all aspects. I quickly realized that Leo is the right place for me. It is what I have been longing for so it's actually easy for me to put in time and effort. It doesn't feel like hard work in the same sense as steem or Hive did..

And with hard work, effort and consistency comes results. It's just a matter of time.

Can you point me in the direction for me information on Iniative 10? I've only started looking on LeoFinance recently and haven't seen anything about this.

I used to be an avid commenter on Steem but never made it across to Hive. Getting going again on Leo is way more tempting since this seems to be where I find myself naturally commenting the most.

Your post has me intrigued. 😊

Sure!
Here you go: Initiative 10.

Initiative 10 is basically just a post about engagement, and how we would benefit from it. It is backed by onealfa, taskmaster himself and many other users and more and more people are following suit.

That is really cool!
The competition will be fierce further down the road, that's for sure.. But I am totally fine with having been on that list one time. It's a crazy achievement for me personally. Hopefully you'll continue to grind and stay on the top! :)

You have certainly done extremely well, so congratulations on that!

More than just the fact that you have enjoyed success in your rewards, what's gratifying about reading this is the underlying notion that LeoFinance may actually be working as a meritocracy: That is, working hard and adding something of value is being rewarded appropriately... which has been one of the issues on both Steem and Hive, in the past.

As for "Honeymoon Phases," I think those depend somewhat on the time period we find something we're doing to be psychologically rewarding.

=^..^=

which has been one of the issues on both Steem and Hive, in the past.

That is very, very true and hopefully, LeoFinance is the answer we've been hoping for. It seems great, it feels awesome and it looks incredible.. I guess time will tell if we are indeed different or not.

I am really satisfied with the results. Both in terms of rewards and with what I have actually managed to do. To be this active, make these comments and publish these articles.. I haven't been this motivated in a long period of time and the best part is that I am having fun. For real. :)
