Greetings, Hivers, I have to confess that there are still things on the platform that I need to investigate further, among these are the communities, there are many and they are very interesting and important, in fact, the draft of the White Paper of Hive dedicates a small section to them indicating that they are the current form that the ecosystem has so that people feel more comfortable, since they are usually focused either on a particular topic or an aspect to highlight of any theme that is published, for example, the commendable work done by both the Gems and OCD communities, where original and quality content is always highlighted.

Now, I have decided to discover little by little those other communities that make life here in the blockchain of Hive. That's why this is going to be my first direct publication in the @leofinance community, which focuses on content related to cryptocurrency and finance.

This is a topic that I love and am passionate about, in fact my arrival to the platform has its roots in that I was already working with everything related to the world of blockchain. Without further ado, please join me in what I want to share with you today: what will be the best way to talk to people about cryptocurrency and thus introduce them to this subject?

First of all, let us think about the different ways we can have to talk and explain the cryptocurrency to our friends and acquaintances, even to those who are reluctant to them. This reflection seems to me to be extremely important, since on the effectiveness of this explanation will also depend the interest we can arouse in those who listen to us.

In this regard, I believe that to fully understand everything related to the crypts it is necessary to touch on several aspects; in fact I like to see tutorials, articles and videos where they make different explanations about it. Now, for people who are going to have a first approach to the cryptographic world, it is convenient to choose simple teachings.

Among all the ones I have been able to find, the best is the story that talks about the existence of an asset such as cryptocurrency today and that helps us understand how they work.

I have been inspired by this story to explain to my friends, more or less, in the following way:

Some time ago there was a group of human beings who had a particular money: some very big rocks - about six long and eight wide - which were carved in an island and transported to the different places of their habitat and placed in certain places (even at the bottom of the sea) where they could not move anymore.

Therefore, so that each person could indicate the possession of this or that rock, which was very important since this determined their wealth, what they did was to agree that each family would keep a record that would indicate the ownership of the same. To ensure that this record was immutable, they had to carve it into stones.

When a transaction was made, this was publicly announced in the squares so that everyone could update their register. For example, if Peter gave a piece of a rock that he has at the bottom of the sea to Mary for the purchase of a certain good, he announced it publicly, and now everyone had to register that the ownership of that piece was transferred to Mary, so that if Peter happened to make that expense again his transaction would be rejected, since that piece no longer belonged to him, so it was carved in each and every one of the stones that each family possessed for this purpose.

The same happens with cryptocurrencies: we don't need to have physical possession of them to certify that we are their owners, since said property is established in a distributed digital book (it is not possessed by a single person), public (everyone can have access to it), decentralized (it does not depend on a single individual or entity but on the consensus of the community) and immutable (nothing can be altered, there can be no fraud, since there is a protection of special algorithms, which we call cryptographic, hence the name crypto-currencies).

Just as the rocks of our history were put into circulation thanks to the work of some islanders, the crypto-currencies today enter into circulation through a process called mining, which although diverse in each of them, has that same starting point.

So far I leave this story that can be taken out even more, but to speak to a person in a clear and simple way about this topic, this is enough. I hope it will be useful to the Hive community and, particularly, to the @leofinance community.
Thank you very much for having accompanied me in the reading of this post, I hope your comments and that we can meet again in a next publication, see you later.
