Thoughts on The LeoFinance Project and Targeting the Philippine Content Creation Community

REALITY BITES

I started writing this post two days ago. The rain was pouring hard and the wind, relentless. The power started to twitch, then it turned black all around. It was a power failure.

This went on for more than two days. Longer than most of the towns and cities around us, but I'm still thankful that we now have power. Some friends don't have power, water and internet. It's disheartening.

Public Works Secretary Mark Villar said that estimated damages caused by the typhoon has so far reached PHP4.254B (US$87.8M) as of today, with reports still to arrive (Source).

This is another blow to the already beaten common man here in my country, but there's the rub - beaten doesn't mean surrender here in my place. It is just a small stop, or a strategic retreat. If there's one trait that most Filipinos share, it's resilience. And, here's where crypto comes in.

SUPER CRYPTOBLOG TO THE RESCUE

As a newbie in crypto, one of my goals is to learn as much about how blockchain and cryptocurrencies work. It is related to my goal of learning how to trade and earn a living online. To a certain extent, I already have the skill and passion to write so earning from blogging can be easier for me. It is in investing and trading that I still suffer.

Because of my current need to read up on finance and cryptocurrency news and opinions, I turned to leofinance.io where I often read up on top notch content on the topic. Because I can learn from the Lions of LeoFinance, I can "shadow" some of their work and philosophy, which will hopefully get me going in the right direction and reduce the inherent risks associated with trading and investing.

COMPLEMENTS TO THE CHEF

Despite the setbacks, I'm happy about the new LeoFinance UI: it's cool and functional at the same time. I love that you can change the settings for payout currency in LEO, USD or a combination of both - quality is in the details. It's the little things that make this project stand out and I really appreciate that.

OPPORTUNITY

I'm looking forward to making a small investment with the WLEO Liquidity Pool. This will be a good case-study for me to learn and understand more about how liquidity pools work. A small amount to get my feet wet and help me gain more confidence because of the experience I will go through with it. Uniswap and Metamask are new to me so it might be the right time for me to fully understand how it works, All-in-all, I'm hoping that it will be a fantastic experience for me altogether.

And, if I do earn a few bucks out of it, I will be sharing it with my offline community of family and friends who might be looking for a good investments to add to their portfolio.

LOW-HANGING FRUIT

The Philippines is social-media crazy people. Almost every one I know has a social media account. Even folks from the slums and the poorest sections of the city own a smartphone and are active on social media both as consumers and creators.

As one of the largest social media consuming people in the world, there is also an enormous number of talented and creative artists, writers, visual storytellers and "influencers" that lurk in every nook and cranny of Filipino online community. This profile fit's in nicely with the HIVE/LEO user; internet/social media consumer/producer, mostly online, loves uploading content, very creative bunch of people.

It would be great if we can onboard more people to the platform. Since many of these social-media savvy pinoys are looking for work-from-home earning opportunities, why not make a push to "invade" the Filipino social media country and capture these netizens? They will earn from the platform and HIVE/LEO benefits with the horde of Pinoy bloggers/vloggers/influencers/storytellers/visual artists just waiting for us to invite them over for dinner for a sampling of what I call, social media on steroids.

It's a win-win situation.

To finish this post, the LeoFinance platform provides great crypto and finance content. It rewards creators and curators with a valuable and highly tradable token and is a DEFI token for investors. Especially those of us who are already familiar with the project and the team behind it.

FINALLY

The redesigned page is awesome; the Leo Tokenomics is one of the things that I like most about the main page. It's easier to use the platform because of the great design both aesthetically and functionally. Looking for topics and posts is easy because of the clearly labelled categories and hashtag implementation that's really smooth and just fun to navigate. For the last time (at least in this post), kudos to the team.

You did a great job.
