Saturday Savers Club with @susie-saver | Week 3 - Saturday 16 January 2021

When I first read the post for this challenge, I thought it was an interesting endeavor. Everyone should have a plan in place to save in some form and at regular intervals. However, I bookmarked it and didn't return for a while.

The reason is I have throughout the years been in a position save regularly.

We all know the concept of saving. The word normally refers to the amount one has of his disposal income that remains AFTER all expenses have been taken care of.

In this day and time, the ability to save any amount is almost non-existent. The reason is the economic downturn of the economy due to the circumstances from the pandemic.

Wage earners barely are able to afford the necessities they need to live and take care of their families. I remember how hard it was for my family to have any amount of money saved. The disposal income was just not adequate that there was any available at the end of each pay period to put aside. The concept at the time was known as "living paycheck to paycheck". That is true today are families are struggling.

However, if you are able to have enough disposal income that you have money left over after expenses, then you need to either start or continue a savings plan, no matter how small.

After I returned to the post by @eddie-earner, I decided to join in this Saturday Savers Club challenge. I had already saved 100 Hive during the entire year of 2020.

To this amount, starting on January 1, 2021, I added the amount set out in the challenge post: .01 Hive each day. That means that for Day 1, .01 Hive; Day 2, .02 Hive; Day 3, .03 Hive;...and so on.

I plan to purchase crypto at some point this year.

Last week I brought my Hive Savings Account up to the amount needed to catch up with the challenge. I began on January 16th and transferred 1.360 to savings.

Today is Saturday, January 23rd. This is the third week I have participated. Here is my proof of participation for this past week 1/17 - 1/23:

Hello ma'am 😊. I'm just seeing this challenge for the first time! I believe it's a good one, to have something set aside no matter how little. I'm thinking instead of saving, how about staking the hive. The interest it will yield is likely more than savings. Of course this is if the savings is to be used for a particular purpose.

Hello. Thanks so much for your visit. I already stake my Hive each month when I participate in the Hive Power Up Day on the 1st of each month. That's how I grew my account so quickly after having only been on the platform since July, 2019.

With my savings, as explained in my post, I plan to purchase crypto.

Hello. Thank you for stopping by. I enjoy participating and seeing my savings account grow each week. Even though it's only a small amount, it's the feeling you get knowing you are putting away something for future use. Currently, I'm in a position where I don't need to withdraw it for personal use. However, one never knows what the future may hold, so it will come in handy should this be the case.

My plan is to purchase crypto with my savings.

I appreciate your support. Have a good Sunday and start to next week. Take care and stay safe.
