CRO +300% Crypto.com/.org
A Sleeping Giant has just woken up again!
and its decentralized mobile payment Token 'CRO' rose nearly 300% since last week!
| In the past, there were several factors about Crypto.com that always made me think very well of the company. But lately, the whole Market went on this insane BullRun while CRO was still in hibernation mode. Of course that made me wonder a lot! I expected CRO to make a move day after day and just nothing happend. This is a beautiful chat! | Finally in the last few days some price action started to happen, AND THE ACTION was real. CRO broke out from around 8c to nearly 28c in the last few days/hours, to now (for today) looking a little more stable around 20c. The 1Year chart on @coingecko is just beautiful, it's an utter explosion! Lovely! |
Mainnet launch 25 March 2021
Today everything about Crypto.com / Crypto.org is looking great! They are hiring people all over the world (https://crypto.com/en/about.html#careers) and CRO (Crypto.org) Mainnet launch is officially set to be the 25th of March this year, which is only a month from now.
In order to achieve full decentralization, they decided to burn all their 'old' 70 billion CRO coins. This is the masterplan:
- 59.6b will be burned 22nd Feb 2021
- 10.4b are currently locked in a smart contract, burned monthly as it gets unlocked
- 5b CRO supply will be reallocated to mainnet block rewards for Chain validators and delegators which helps secure the network.
- 0.9 billion CRO will be allocated to Particle for Chain ecosystem development.
That’s 100% and as you've just realized, 5.9b are actually just getting reallocated. Scary Cats will now scream false advertisements, personally, I think it looks good.
CRO Mainnet Staking Rewards Set at 20% APY
The 5b CRO reallocated as blockrewards will create a massive incentive of ~20% APY for CRO staking over a period of 10years, which means 500m a year. There's no minimum staking requirement and as we all know, the staking also enables acquiring their fancy VISA Cards.
Small Update: Note staking will be rewarded with the CRO dividends from the pool. The 'Wallet Staking' stays independent and counts for the VISA Cards.
Oh Man, I can see CRO fly really high now, or like @bozz phrased it 'CRO might pull a BNB on us' #NoFinAdvice.

I picked up some of their other tokens a while ago that they eventually rolled into the CRO token. I didn't mind really. I just wanted to hold some in case I ever decided to get one of those credit cards. I wouldn't feel bad at all if CRO pulled a BNB on us. I'd actually laugh all the way to the bank if that happened :)

It might take a while, but eventually, that's a very possible scenario. With all this burning and staking, the value can spiral out of control very fast. Those Visa cards are really cool. They include NetFlix and Spotify, two companies which I don't really like, but also Airport Lounge access.
I use Netflix and Spotify pretty much every day, so that would be a huge benefit for me. I don't travel too much and I am not a fan of flying like I used to be, so I am not sure how much I would use the lounge access. I guess time will tell!

I think card staking and CRO main net staking are different.
Very pleased that CRO has recovered so dramatically after a big drop 6 months ago.
That would actually make a lot of sense. Let me try to verify that later.
