It's nothing new, but with more competitors join the market, things will speed up. And really i don't want Hive to become Myspace.
We need develop and improve things internally or just make a big partnership.
Like how YouTube got bought by Google and like how WhatsApp & Instagram got bought by Facebook. Hive probably need a bigger partnership. Or some new hive investors to shake things around.
Also I saw there is a strong correlation with price and monthly active accounts.

I don't think there is a partnership needed. The only thing is needed get the core code to that point people can build here without spending x amount for onboarding.
That's one of the major points people/devs don't like a hive. Special for free tp play stuff with micropayments. Would work well together but the onboarding is meh. With wallet addresses, this should work out.
Professional apps look at what a user in average cost and bring in. Low cost + benefit = superior solution.
Same with Smts, Smart contracts. People and businesses can't wait years to start because they never come. That's why so many apps move away.
Also, an Smt would be binding to the blockchain. To be real Hive is like a start-up blockchain for projects.
Dlive, appics, and so on. There were many. If they had the user's tokens here too, it would be a higher binding to the Chain. That generates Value.
I don't know why nobody cares that points. These is value points for the future. Not 10x or 100x, if it's done well, it can be a backbone of everything.

If we don't need partnership then we need new investors who could put a team together with existing hive devs to build the tools that needed to take Hive to the next level.

to the partnership, I know forums ( 20k active users +) that would love to use Hive but onboarding + no Smts is like " a lot of work + cost for nothing"

In general yes,
but this people ( most of them), build it centralized. So they want token ownership on base chain.
Explain them:
Buy Btc into hive into bee into token creation into integration to existing forum + explain to users what happens + pay for onboarding is too much pain.
It needs a soft version like soft wallets. So it can be an option to use the tokens, but not a need. And with time they can expand on it.
It must be cheap and easy. So they can build payment options with the own token or whatever.
if it's easy, it needs to over a benefit too. It is too technical at the moment.
For example, a user swap with light wallets can be a super cool solution.
The user receives a mail " we use now hive, you can use your login and claim x amount of tokens with keychain".
Short email explainer and people start by nature a discussion about and learn.
A benefit would be " earn now advertisement revenue with the new token" or "get access to special whatever".
a prebuild forum solution / front end easy to install would be also nice. Maybe a hybrid solution or a plug-in to the existing open-source forum software.
We should never forget, hive community is 100 times more technical than an average internet user.
Also, it should feature a forget password thing, because we know what the average users do. Like a recovery server with the tool we already have. New password in minutes with owner key they get encrypted elsewhere on the platform or whatever.
If it's easy and beneficial it will be the next big thing. Every website can benefit from it.

So we need new developers and/or existing developers to create simple enough tool for tokenisation with Hive
