Understanding Cryptocurrency From an Artists Perspective

I'm an artist. Not in the drawing sense but more so the general sense. If you graduate from Business School then you get a Bachelor of Arts. That's what I see myself as -- an artist.

The great thing about art is that you can literally make art out of anything. Take @reazuliqbal for example, I call his coding art but one might argue that he is a coder rather than an artist. But I disagree. Art can be woven out of anything. Bitcoin is art, in my opinion.

A lot of writers on hive fail to see the opportunity standing in front of their face. Not through their own fault of course because writing is actually a viable option on here. Create good content and build an audience. @Taskmaster is a great example of this. Many people love to read and watch what he creates on a daily basis, and he has the upvotes and comments on every post to back up what I'm saying.

But there is more to Hive than just writing. So much more. You can literally tokenise your entire life on here if you wanted to -- and that's what I call real art.

One of my friends that is big in London and linked in with all the media snooped out here for a while. She's in the middle of writing her new book but she's coming to a halt with funding. I said she should go and get herself recognised on here and tokenise her book. Sell x amount of tokens on hive engine for a cut of her book. So for example she could sell 1000 tokens each worth $20 each, which could represent 50% of the gross profits of her sales.

She didn't take it. She didn't want to start networking again, but my point still stands. All of you writers out there you are failing to see the real value in hive, hive engine, and everything else we're building here. Don't get me wrong if you just want to write then that's awesome, but if you've always wanted something more like I have then the time is now. The time is now whilst we are a small chain in bumsville nowhere on the backwaters of the internet.

Hive is where we can literally tokenise our passions. Think about it. Want to build a woodwork business? You don't need to create a tribe, all you need do is create a token and offer up 20% of your returns to your token holders. All you need is a community and a couple of token holders. Your token sales will help you start it all up.

You see, one thing I don't think many people understand is that we have literally solved a problem that other blockchains have been working on for years. Think about it, imagine if Ethereum had the ability for its community to blog to their own audience. Do you think that would increase the value of Ethereum or devalue it? My money is on the increase part simply because now there's an audience attached to whatever they're trying to create.

Right now Eth projects are limited to Medium, which as a customer of Medium for many years I can tell you that they pick and choose which places get to see the light of day. If you're groundbreaking and are going to fuck a lot of other places shit up then you won't see a single look in. Banned for racism or hate speech even. They have ways to not upset the general flow of information.

Hive has perfected this shit. Through at least five years of designing, testing, failing, and then trying again we have narrowed the process down quite a bit. Are there problems? Sure. Are there problems like we had at the beginning? No way. Other blockchains have all of this to work out. They are five years behind. Like blocktrades said on our podcast we are far ahead of any other chain when it comes to this sort of stuff.

So now we're experimenting with the second layer, liquidity pools, and all sorts of regular token stuff. Thanks to projects like Hive engine we've literally been able to create a new coin at the click of a button and use it to whatever ends we may wish -- a stop gap in the rush to smt's. Another first might I add. I haven't seen any other chain that will allow token creation through the click of a button.

Goddamnit guys we should be all over this. We should be tokenising our lives, our work, our businesses. Anything you can think of.

I know I keep saying this but hive is on the cusp of something great. Will it happen 1, or 2 years from now? Maybe, maybe not. But if you look at the new things cropping up here you'll understand that it's one at least every week.

Get started before you're like one of these people that wishes they invested $100 in Bitcoin back in 2009. Who cares if everyone is dumping now. Collect now and look to the future, rather than miss out.

I've always had the notion that coding is art, public speaking, vlogging, it's all art but here you bring another interesting perspective, tokenizing ones life, somehow I quite understand but it's going to take a couple of other thoughts to make it a reality in my head, I get the concept, but I may lack the imagination, im sure I will subconsciously begin to think about it more, perhaps something will come out of it eventually. These are the types of thought provoking posts I like to read.

Oh? Was this the same friend that was easily offended by a fellow bro?

That's unfortunate.

Different person. The one I spoke of investigated here a few months ago but she wanted a quick fix. I told her that although she's really well known here in the UK she'll probably have to start networking again because Hive is global and unfiltered.

My easily offended friend was someone else entirely! A writer yes, but not of the calibre that my other friend is :)

It's not like we couldn't look her up...

Man, I told her this also. The route for her to get notoriety would be quicker. But, alas, I don't think she wanted to work at any networking whatsoever lol

Her loss though!

Great thoughts about tokenizing book sales, never thought about that! I believe there is a world of opportunities out there now, more than ever, you should just be open to see them. And you can't see them all by yourself, your friend is lucky for you to open her eyes, maybe she'll think about it later and come back to you for advise!

I doubt she will in all honesty. She didn't want to spend the time to create a new network. It will happen eventually -- when you can't ignore this place :)

I have imagination usually, but I have to admit that I really fail to see this. Maybe time for another chat ... I know we spoke about this a while back. Somehow, I think it's more an issue with self-confidence for me to get the whole point. But nevertheless, great post and very inspirational!
