$1000 Portfolio....

avatar

In short let's create an imaginary portfolio and keep track of it for the next few months. If the outcome turns positive than the dummy trade would be really worth it or else it would go in vain. Since this a dummy portfolio, I want to pint out dome facts and ways that I usually think before I jump into any coins or holdings for mid/long term. No financial advices here. I am just a noob ;)

Dummy Portfolio

Now comes the big question! How would we utilize the thousand bucks and what are we actually expecting from this initial investment. I always think about the exit plan before I dive into a coin. Which is how much profit I want to take and if I really want to buy in on this coin!

blur-1853262_1280.jpg

30% in HIVE ($300)

First pick for long term! Since this money will get stuck for a time I want to make sure I use it in the best way possible! If I could, I would have gone all in with HIVE atm. But for understanding the module I need to go this way. For starters I want HIVE in my portfolio. That even for a long term. As I have said countless times, how I want it and we all know where it would reach in the long run. The recent pump and dump provoked me to sell my HIVE and buy them back at a much lower rate. As resisting thyself in such conditions is pretty hard to get by. Nevertheless, this is it for now.

10% in Hive-Engine tokens ($100)

There are some promising things happening around HIVE. And no wonder HE is one of them. While HIVE is pumping there are some significant growth happening in those tribes/tokens. Which could be a big growth in long terms. The most active community atm which I can see are LEO, CTP, BRO, SPT, PAL and the latest edition CINE. Diversify as much as possible. Some of these tokens are still undervalued and might see a surge in the coming days. Which is why collecting them as much as possible.

20% in BSC ($200)

Now do not get me wrong. Since we are going to utilize the funds as much as possible I want to make them as diversify as possible. There is a saying, if you do not go according to the trend, you are going to be left behind. Which is why there are some big things happening in Binance smart chain. Various promising projects are being launched and if you can grab those good ones as an early adopter, things might change for good. So I would really take that risk and go with those for the moment.

$200 in Trading

I am aware, this is not much for trading. But since I want to keep myself updated with the current news of crypto, trading is the best suited place to do that. I would keep this money in such a way, that it would feel like it is gone. As trading can be such kind of stuff. So it is for granted gone. At least that way, I could do trades much more wisely.

Rest 20% in Liquid

Why is that? Since we all know all the above coins/tokens could go the other way around and if that happens (which is probably unlikely) but still to be on the safe side, if that happens this could help to dive in the dip or have a plan B. Nothing extraordinary but just a safe bet to be on the safe side.

This could be as safe as possible from my side. If I would have gone in with initial investment of $1000. There are plenty of flaws in the above selections, I am aware of that but come to think of it, it does works for me. As I can closely keep an eye on those selected coins and in their future developments. So it does depends on thyself and how you see the future of your holdings.

Do let me know what would you have in your portfolio, if you had $1000 to invest upon in crypto?

If I have 1000 bucks, I would give 50% to the cubfinance liquidity since the price of cub affordable and there are high APR on farms. And rest 500 I would buy a decent token like pancake or sushi and would stake them in permanent Apr farms on sushi. Just my opinion.

You just reminded me of the 20k APR on the pool of Cubdefi ;)
Those are some nice choices and I am sure you know what you are doing.
While as in for staking my best choice would be Cake atm. Since they are piling up some pretty cool stuffs in the future.
Hope you get to achieve them soon, if the situation arrives my friend.

Well if I had $1000 I will invest $500 in bitcoin. And only take profit when that money doubles in value. My timeline would be from now to 2024 (which happens to be the next bitcoin halting)

The other $500 will be spent between $leo $cub and $hive equally. This would be held for as long as possible.

Also, I can leverage my bitcoin on exchanges to get liquidity which I can trade on the market. My curation rewards/staking rewards from hive and other its affiliate would serve as a cushion for losses when I am actively trading.

With this strategy I think could double or triple that money yearly

Those are indeed some nice strategy. What I can say for those steps, they are going to be long term mostly. I would definitely add BTC on my list but as of now it is kinda out of my reach. But yeah it is a must to hold for long longer longest term ;)

Thanks for sharing your POV. Might get a hold onto BTC if I can make some along the way, cheers!

If you’re just starting out, “paper trading” is a great way to learn some lessons without any risk. When I started day trading I traded on paper for a couple months first. Those winners really help to build your confidence, but it always sucks that the profit wasn’t real. Anyway, best of luck with your portfolio!

Although, I will say that I think the CUB investment is dubious. Where is the value being given out in interest coming from?! Why would any outsider want to swap into it other than to get free money out of thin air and dump it into their coin of choice (likely not HIVE)? Why would you want to support a completely different chain (BSC) and pay fees for the pleasure? I see the fomo and greed aspect of things, which is fine for people to take advantage of as long as the music keeps playing, but I wouldn’t want to be around if and when the rose colored glasses come off.

I must say there are plenty of things happening in crypto.
DEFI, Trading, Blogging, and now NFT it is kind of hard to keep up. But the fact is, we are here in the crypto space for long term. I do not want to get sweeped away in the tides and loose my money in certain aspects. Which is diversification is highly necessary. Which is why this dummy portfolio is what I designed. Besides there are lots of coins I missed out since I wanted to make the best out of those $1k.

But regardless, nothing emotional from my side. I am a big fan of HIVE and will be in the future as well. Which is why, I am making the best use of it from trades and accumulating them as much as possible before we the actual bull run of HIVE ;)

As for CUB, I am pretty sure Khal is going to make the best out of the project. Yes, now we are just sitting on promises but the roadmap is out there and we sure going to make the best out of those options. LEO token did wonders within limits. I am just excited how much CUB can do with such a vast place as of now. Lets just wait and see ;)

I really appreciate your POV !

As an alternative to CUB (I know the portfolio isn’t real), you might look at BRO, INDEX, DHEDGE, and ARCHON...they’re H-E tokens that pay dividends in other tokens. They stay completely within the HIVE ecosystem and provide a passive/compounding income. (In real life I sold my CUB and bought BRO and INDEX).

Well majorly, my 1000$ portfolio would have to be Bitcoin, Leo, ethereum, cub and hive and I wouldn't really take profits from BTC and Eth since it'll be my long-term goals.

Why not Bitcoin? BTC will always lead the pack, and now after it retreated back to over 50K is a good entry point. A no brainer since support at these levels is strong.
Hive however will tend sideways for some time after its huge run. And there is always the risk it falls back again like happened so many times before.

Why not Bitcoin?

Well, not sure why but I might add some with the profits that I generate. In that way, my stuck money (HODL) will not affect me that much. And since the amount is low $1k, I wanted to see how much profit I can generate with that amount.

As for HIVE, it might get the way you are indicating and if that happens (slides down) I will get in slowly on to that.

Besides I wanted some opinions from users (aka hive users) and each one of your POV matters to me. I will definitely update my original portfolio pretty soon ;)

Convert $1000 in usdt and stake in binance at 6% apy/ nexo 12% apy both zero risk everything else replies on token price which half of the time doesn't work out.
Hive 51c is way too high to invest prob settle around 15c eventually

For some reason, I believe if I can not take risks I do not belong in crypto! Well technically I will not be at risk if I stake but my growth would be far more less compared to the other ways. But yeah playing safe side does really works in great ways. I might try that when I have enough free money lying around for me and this way it would be an additional benefit while it accumulates money for me ;)

40% in small cap (HIVE) is insanely risky, that's just not even comprehensible lol.

Quick $1,000 long hodl portfolio off the top of my head...

500 BTC
100 ETH

50 DOT
50 UNI
50 BNB
50 LINK
50 CRO
50 SUSHI

25 RUNE
25 CAKE
25 AAVA
25 THETA

I was laughing hard with that line lol....

Damn I am almost empty on all the coins. DOT, UNI, BNB is a must on those list. The recent NFT hype really got CRO to the peak. I missed the chance to get into it last year lol. But like it is said it is never too late.

Cake just did wonders from last week. I am sure it will go above and beyond pretty soon. RUNE is what I miss the most. Never had it on my portfolio. But hopefully soon will add it.

Thanks man for sharing the thoughts. I will definitely add some onto my list ;)
