I found Hive in 2020 - Let me continue with Hive to 2021
2020 may not be a good year from various perspectives which include the COVID pandemic. It has been particularly torturous for me ( I know I am not the only one) as I was inside my apartment for almost 10 months. Living in a closed space without access to public spaces, personal transportation options and the regular social connection has been particularly detrimental for my mental health.
There were two things that helped me avoid the negative consequences of the pandemic for me at the individual level.
- Recreational running - I have been fairly active this whole year. I broke my previous records of running this year. I managed to run a 10K after almost six years.
- Hive blogging- I also discovered Hive in 2020. It helped me a lot to distract myself from the ongoing pandemic and all the negative consequences associated with that. I managed to develop a network and learned a lot about various crypto topics . I even invested in a sizable portfolio of crypto assets this year because of my engagement on Hive.
I think the year 2020 had few silver linings just because of these two reasons and a couple of other personal ones. I am dying to get back to the old normal which may not happen anytime soon. I am desperate to travel somewhere sunny and I will do that despite the COVID situation next summer.
Hive Powerup
This new year also happens to be the first day of the month ( what am I even saying?). And, that means we are powering up the Hive we have on our wallet. I have been doing this since November. I have been saving all my daily income till now. I manage to collect the total income of 149 HP through my engagement on the platform. Sigh - 1 short of 150. I am proud of that tbh.
It means I will have 1287 HP to begin the year 2021. Looking back where I started (at 0), I feel great that I have 1.2k HP in my wallet now.
Leo powerup
There is no official day to power up my Leo but I saw a post by @nickyhavey and I thought why not power up Leo as well. Typically, I power up every ounce of Leo I earn the minute I receive them. Today, I had 15 Leo in my wallet and I powered that up. I now own 1991 LP and I am 9 Leo away from 2000 Leo power. Another achievement for me.
I am happy to read these amazing hive power up posts. It does not matter how much you are powering up. It is about the intention and the effect of the friendly network we have on the platform. Keep up the good work. I am happy that I discovered Hive in 2020 and I am hopeful I will remain active throughout the year of 2021.

I'm really glad you managed to find some solace with your exercise and HIVE. I know first hand the benefit of regular exercise - helped me get through along with having a challenge to keep something to focus on. So well done on your 10k man! That's awesome!
Great work on the staking too, you're doing really well on the Leo front! 2k beckons in the next couple of days!

I am pretty happy with my engagement on Leofinance. The only thing I wish for this new year would be to stay as active as I was in 2020. You are doing amazing on all fronts. Looking forward to following all the leaders :P

Yeah man, know how you feel. Have enjoyed the time of work this last week but I know my activity is going to be slashed from Monday so just trying to be as active as I can then will see how it goes once I'm back at work... Boo hiss! Haha

2021 will not only continue for Hive and Leo, it will get better. We are going to see a ton of things rolling out during the first half of the year that could change things radically.
It is exciting to see what is unfolding before our eyes.
All those involved will find their time was well spent.
