Kate Winslet and Bitcoin

It's funny how media covers issues when the hype is real. Bitcoin is on a record breaking spree (not quite at the ATH) and news sources are trying their best to attract readers. After-all, this is their opportunity to sell items and gather maximum number of readers. And, crypto readers are extremely enthusiastic to read about crypto adoption by the masses.

Who would be a better representative of the masses than Kate Winslet. My early morning news feed are populated with crypto news lately. It is of-course due to my massive google search on crypto news and also due to the handpicked links on apple news. A news article caught my attention which mentioned how Kate Winslet invested in Bitcoin Investment Trading Platforms.

Are you reading this because the title was interesting? :)

I instantly knew that this was not true due to two reasons.

  1. The headline was followed by a question mark. It is always a warning sign as the writer him/herself is not sure if that is true.

  2. It would be a massive news break if that was really true. I would not be reading a coin insider article to know about that.

After Maisie Williams tweeting out in public about Bitcoin, news sources are trying to come up with another popular BTC link to a celebrity.

So, no it's not true that Kate Winslet is trading BTC on any trading platform but that was a good clickbait to attract readers.

Like any other sensational article, the Coin Insider piece added a paragraph on bitcoin trading platforms. A little awareness does not hamper and I am up for it.

Brace yourself, once BTC hits 20K mark there could be news articles suggesting Elon Musk decides to purchase 1 billion worth BTC as Tesla's storage assets.
