Morning everyone....

Some how, some where I lost my longtime pocket carry knife. I don’t know if it came off while I was loading or unloading last week, but it’s gone. It was a Spyderco with a carbon fiber handle. Dam that was perfectly broken in and held a razor sharp blade.

I’ve been without a knife for nearly a week and couldn’t take it much longer. So I went to a mom and pop hunting and fishing store near me to get one. I like to support local and privately owned stores over big box chains.

They had a bunch of great knives, most of them were out of my price range for an every day carry knife. After much deliberation on my part, I decided on the knife you see in the thumbnail picture.

It’s a SOG Flash Tanto. I have a few SOG multi tools and I’m very impressed with the workmanship and quality of them. So I decided to give this blade a run around the block.

Also in the thumbnail picture you see five American Silver Eagles. Those were given to me by a friend on Sunday. I lent him one of my compressors, two flooring nailers, zero clearance saw and my floor sander.

He had them for over a month now. He was laying hardwood floors down in a house he just bought and was fixing it to his wife’s liking before moving in.

While I didn’t ask for anything, he told me that I saved him about $1000 in tool rentals. After I was done loading up, he handed me a shopping bag with what he told me was some baked goods his wife made for me.

Well there were baked goods in there. But those five American Silver Eagles were as well. Mom got a marble pound cake and some kind of fruit danish ring. But I got the silver......
