Apmex

Albert Einstein as one of the most prominent and influential physicists of all time. He is most acknowledged for developing the theory of relativity.

There is a simplified explanation of the Theory of Relativity here..

Einstein received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921 for his work and contributions to the field of theoretical physics.

The German-born scientist, he became an American citizen in 1940.

Einstein died 17 April 1955 at the age of 75. During the autopsy, the pathologist Thomas Stoltz Harvey removed Einstein's brain for preservation without the permission of his family, in the hope that the neuroscience of the future would be able to discover what made Einstein so intelligent. Einstein's remains were cremated in Trenton, New Jersey, and his ashes were scattered at an undisclosed location.

Hehehe... I think he is super cool for not following traditional hairstyle of his age. A great contribution indeed.

Yes, it's a limited edition of 10,000 coins but unless they have minted them already, you're never sure that is the number. Sometimes they mint less. The tricky part here is that they put out a very limited number if say 500 coins at good prices. Then they ran out of stock. And when they come out again, they are triple the premiums. Such is the case with these Niue Icons of Inspirations coins.
Happy Sunday, @littlebee4 😊

Albert Einstein without his brain sounds rather ironic doesn't it? But he looks great on a silver coin!

Always, with love 🤗🌺❤️

Hahaha... well, he doesn't need it anymore. There are many men and women of Inspiration this century alone. I bet you this is going to be a long series!
Hugs and kisses, sis 🤗

I lived just next to the Albert Einstein street for 15 years. Only clever people were allowed in that street ;)

I missed Galileo and DaVinci (when I was pondering if I want to buy them, they went out of stock at all of my dealers), so now I only got Newton 😢

They have maxed out 10,000 in a years time? Unbelievable!!!
But wait and see, it may come back. I wonder if they are back but with higher premiums?
Keep trying, my friend!

Wow information I never knew @silversaver888 , I had no idea that they removed Einstein's brain before they cremated him....... Do you know what they did with his brain?
Beautiful silver coin tribute to this intelligent man!!😀

... and will they ever find out what causes him to be so intelligent! He used 100% of his brain, that for sure, @silvertop!
More recently, 46 small portions of Einstein's brain were acquired by the Mütter Museum in Philadelphia. In 2013, segments of the brain went on exhibit in the museum's permanent galleries. The exhibit featured thin slices of Einstein's brain, mounted on microscope slides.[14] Wikipedia

That's very interesting @silversaver888 , I had no idea...... I wonder if anyone in his Family objected to this?🤔

There was no mention of his family. But in 2010, Harvey's heirs transferred it to a museum.

It sounds like his heirs were OK with part of his brain being on display @silversaver888……. I wonder if we can learn anything from his remains?🤔

I would think the family would demand his brain back for the cremation. I wonder if it's still housed or if the family got it back?

A very nice coin sis! Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day! Love ya!🤗😘💞🌸 !LADY

No, they never got it back.
Harvey dissected the brain into about 240 blocks (each about 1 cm3) and encased the segments in a plastic-like material called collodion.[5][6] Harvey also removed Einstein's eyes. He gave them to Henry Abrams, Einstein's ophthalmologist.[4]
In 2010, Harvey's heirs transferred all of his holdings constituting the remains of Einstein's brain to the National Museum of Health and Medicine. This included 14 photographs of the whole brain (which was now in fragments), never before revealed to the public.[12][13]

It certainly celebrates great people. I suspect this series will go on for a long time.
Hugs and kisses, sis 🤗

Hello friend. A pleasure to stop by. Really, these last few weeks if it's not one thing it's another with me. Now I had a terrible flu more than 15 days ago and I'm still in the process of recovery, I hit my chest a lot, and I still haven't solved my previous problem because I got sick. But well, trusting in God that I will be fine and I will not continue to have stumbles.

I love to come by and say hello to you. What a spectacular coin that you share with us today, I love it, it is a beauty. The details, the engraving, really beautiful.

A hug and blessings my friend. Take care of yourself @silversaver888 💫

Awww... I am sorry to learn that you are not feeing well. That flu is lingering! I hope it doesn't progress to anything more serious and that it is just taking you time to recover. I all the more value you coming here, and viewing the coin, and commenting!
You take good care you yourself. Drink plenty of liquids, and eat well, @dayadam!
Trust in God... He never disappoints!
Tell me if there is anything I can do from here.

Not sure I care for that rough finish to the Einstein coin.. Looks grainy. I suppose it's different and I have NO room to talk of such things. Heck! I drew Albert a while back and did it via the blind contour style... Talk about different!

Wo, that a nice drawing of Einstein! Now, why did you choose to draw him?

I chose to draw him only because of his carless hair and recognizable facial features. At the time, I was looking to draw a famous figure of sorts. I remembered a Jewish studies class I took in college, and how we studied his life. I remembered learning about how he had to give up so much of what he enjoyed about life, when he could not return to Germany. He was one of the lucky ones, not to have fallen to Hitler. Not to go down that depressing road.. So I picked him because people would recognize the face and smile at it. I drew this with one continuous line, and not once looked at it until I was done.. Blind Contour. 😊

Wow, you're that good!!!!
I can't draw a straight line, hehehe.
There was a time i thought I'd try drawing and watercolor.
I don't know if you have to gifted to do that.
Anyway, with so many things to do and little time to do it, I though I'd just stack.

hahaha.. Yes you can 😁
I think you would be good at it if you practiced a bit.
Stacking can be artistic too in a way.. Especially how you photograph your pieces 😊
