From Skeptic To ARDENT Supporter

Bitcoin is a very powerful instrument. Most of the world still does not get it. The understanding about what is present, along with the rest of cryptocurrency resides with just a few.

This includes some rather successful and very smart people.

Mark Cuban was one of them. For years, he blasted Bitcoin, not buying into the narrative that it was going to be the new money. In fact, that is still an idea he does not believe.

So what was it that changed his mind?

I can't say exactly but it has to be when the major institutions started buying in. The narrative he does accept about Bitcoin is that it is a store of value. This is obviously why the major institutions stated their buying.

What is so interesting about this scenario is that Cuban went from Bitcoin hater to not only a supporter of cryptocurrency, but an ardent one. He is a big time advocate for what is taking place with NFTs and DeFi in particular. He believes this is the future.

He is such a supporter that he even offered some advice to noted Bitcoin hater, Peter Schiff.

Keep in mind that Cuban is the guy who once said he preferred bananas to Bitcoin.

This is what he had to say:

That is quite a turn around. He is starting to sound like the Winklevoss Twins or some long time Bitcoin advocates.

This is the power of what is going on here. Cuban is obviously a very knowledgeable guy when it comes to the technical aspect of things. That is his background which translated into him turning Broadcast.com into a multi-billion dollar company.

Of course, Cuban had a parting shot for Schiff.

It is amazing the conversion that can be made. Cuban is now one of crypto's staunchest supporters. When Bitcoin converts people, it really converts them.

For those who understand what is taking place, they can see how the future is aligning. Much of what we are seeing now is really just a proof-of-concept. There will be a lot of failure over the next few years. That is the way it goes with technology. Experimentation is what this is all about. That is where innovation comes from.

Having a few breakthroughs lead to even more success. It is how the Internet was built and this will mirror it. As long as people keep developing and trying new things, we are apt to see exponential grow across the industry.

It is vital to remember we are in the early days. With only 100 million people involved, it is hard to fathom what things will be like when there are a billion. Presently, there are more than 4.5 billion people on the Internet.

Cuban went even one step further. His basketball team, the Dallas Mavericks, will begin accept DOGE as payments. This will put this currency in the limelight even more.

https://cryptobriefing.com/mark-cubans-dallas-mavericks-will-accept-dogecoin/

Everywhere we look, there are things happening around cryptocurrency. In fact, just last week, Cuban's co-host on Shark Tank, Kevin O'Leary, another critic of Bitcoin in the past said he now embraces it. In fact, he allocated 3% of his portfolio to the leading cryptocurrency.

Here is where we see the wave of new buying come from. It is not from the early speculators. Instead, we are seeing those who waited until the technology proves itself before jumping in.

At this time, there is little doubt that Bitcoin is sticking around. We also know that institutional interest is not going to wane anytime soon. This means that bigger institutions are going to get involved, most likely pushing the price higher.

Even if the use case is as a store of value, the larger the market cap, the more confidence the bigger players will have in it. This turns it into a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The biggest compliment one can receive is when one's critics start to embrace you. For Bitcoin, this what is happening. As the leading cryptocurrency, this is forging a path for the rest of cryptocurrency to follow. Projects that are built in this spectrum now have the chance to follow the lead of Bitcoin and provide real world value.

It is vital to remember how early we are in the and how much is going to change over the next few years. Once this starts to hit the mainstream, every aspect of what is being developed now will take off.

This is going to take some time since it is technical in nature and does require a great deal of coding. However, just like the Internet, each new phase brings in many more users.

With someone like Cuban now promoting it, we could see a rush of new investors. After all, when it comes to finance, the herd mentality does exist.

I was very surprised when news about Bitcoin was published on my global newspaper page on Facebook
I find people asking what is Bitcoin?
What is that ?
About 70% of the comments
Are they too late, or have we traveled and preceded them through time?

I dont think it is too late but that is just me. We are at a time when crypto is still in the early stages.

More big entities will by BTC in my opinion. It is only a matter of time. So the future is bright for that one.

@natalia-irish it is not too late, infact i think now is the best time to be in the bitcoin market, though it is true that there are still many people out there who still do not know about bitcoin or not well informed about what it is,but i am glad that recently they are beginning to have interest in the bitcoin market...

The future of crypto is the beginning of wisdom. It pays to pay attention to the future than the present. Cuban never thought about the future of bitcoin before, but now that he does and sees the future potential of bitcoin. He can't get enough of the freedom and power it posses.

I think naysayers are also a crucial part of the crypto world. At the end of the day, its if you cant beat them you join them.

The cryptocurrency world is too strong to be put down i guess.

It really is becoming impossible to ignore. And this time around, the converts are coming in before it makes its usual parabolic run. I will be very interested to see how these people react when they get their first taste of a "bear market". Will they still be as firmly in its corner? Will they even be buyers? Or will they feel like the rest of us and quit watching it for a few months in order to maintain their sanity? lol They probably will be just fine as I doubt any of them will have enough riding on it to change their lives but....it will be interesting to watch. Especially if they come out strongly in support. They may even curtail the "correction" to 70% instead of 85%. :-)

A guy like Cuban will likely not be affected. He is around long enough so he will not be phased by it. He understands the volatility raised.

But there are many who will enter where this might not be the case. So we have to decide whether they are legit or not.

It is going to be interesting.

If there are going to be "weak hands" among these corporations then the road could really be bumpy. I gotta believe most of them will be pretty strong....time will tell.

I think time is the final teller of what will happen to crypto. I think ETH was considered awesome for trading when its price was low and the network was not as busy. However time showed that ETH had a fatal flaw of fees when the prices and activity started to moon.

As of right now, I think BTC will only be a store of value. There are just too many flaws for it to a good currency medium due to its limited supply. Even if you cut a satoshi into smaller parts, I only see it making people save and not spend. While this may sound good, the economy would be devastated and if people only wanted to buy necessities then many people will be out of a job.

Bitcoin as the global currency would be extremely deflationary. Since it is capped in number that would mean that the incentive is always to hold it. To pry it out would require price drops.

That is not going to work.

Plus then you add in the technology flaws. It is 12 years old. Yes it is secure but it is not fast of scalable.

Bitcoin is definitely stealing gold's thunder. Bitcoin's downward affect on gold's price is really obvious nowadays. You couldn't say that last year. This year though, the correlation is too obvious to ignore. That's pretty crazy since Bitcoin's only been around for about a decade or so...

At the very least he is now a believer. I don't think he cares that much about the tech or the benefits cryptos can provide to everyone but instead he loves the money aspect. At the end of the day he is a shark :P

Actually I disagree. He is likely to invest in business applications that stem from this more than the currency itself. Sure he will amass some Bitcoin, likely more Ethereum, but he will put a ton of money into start ups.

At the end of the day, he is a venture capitalist.

they just go where the money goes and say what people expect them to say, they are simply interested in making money in my opinion

It's almost like he is another McAfee without the crazy self love stuff going on :). It does make you wonder if these people are starting to embrace it because they actually see the benefit from it. Part of me thinks they might just be thinking "crap I am missing out on a lot of money". I don't think Cuban is in that camp. I think he has definitely done his research and he knows what is up. I guess this is one of those cases where it maybe doesn't matter why they are coming, just that they are showing up!

@taskmaster4450le

i am sure if bitcoin price has gone down to a very low price i am sure he will be beating his chest of how he made so many negative reviews about bitcoin, but as a smart man he has discovered that he was wrong about bitcoin and that bitcoin is now doing well,he now decides to change his mind and start supporting bitcoin, but its support for bitcoin is good anyways,it is good to see that more people are getting convinced that bitcoin is a good crypto to invest on....

I remember Mark Cuban being negative about Bitcoin then. Wondering when will Nouriel Roubini, JP Morgan will join the bandwagon.

I think first he doesn't understand.

Then conflict with older investments.

After seeing the opportunity to make brrrrrr and love it :)

Big-invested people are the most time that way.

( like the Internet at the start) :D
