The Massive Expansion Of Leofinance: This Is How Things Work

avatar

We often discuss the idea of a complex organic system which is what decentralized communities are. This is something radically different for most people. It is taking a while for things to come together on Hive. Nevertheless, we are starting to see some results.

What is even more telling is what we are seeing with Leofinance. Through this platform, we are seeing a couple ideas coming to the surface.

We have:

Both are these are built around the power of decentralization. With an ecosystem like this, we can see where people are free to jump in and contribute where they can.

This will have profound effects down the road.

It Takes A Community

There is a lot of discussion of late on getting Leofinance ranking within the search engines. We all know how important organic traffic is to the growth of a site. For this reason, members such as @forexbrokr, @hitmeasap, and @finguru have posted numerous articles about optimization and doing things to help the ranking.

The bottom line is these three individuals cannot do it on their own. Instead, it takes hundreds of people spreading links around. Many do not seem to be doing this. As I write this article, there are already 5 links to Leofinance content.

So how can we make this easier and improve on things?

This was the thought process that brought me to @leoglossary. The idea is to have links based upon basic cryptocurrency and financial terms that everyone can use.

It is the same concept that makes Investopedia and Wikipedia so powerful. It is common to find them at the top of many searches simply because those sites carry so much weight.

What is amazing is that Hive is the ideal place for something like this. It is a decentralized, permissionless database. Why not take advantage of it.

You can read the introduction of LeoGlossary to get caught up on the idea.

Build It And Built On Top Of It

The base structure is rather simple.

We simply have a Main Menu with the different terms and their links. From there, one simply clicks on what is desired and it takes to a page with a definition or description of the term.

Here is what it looks like:

This is where things get very interesting. None other than @khaleelkazi himself picked up on the idea and is going to add to it.

One of the keys is to get people to use this to generate links. He offered up the ideal solution which he is going to run by the developers.

linking.png

Isn't that an amazing idea?

According to his thought process, type in Proof-of-Work and you will get a pop up providing the associated link.

This would allow each post or comment to have links inserted in them easily. What does that do for the ranking if most people were linking the majority of posts and comments on here?

Also, what is essentially happening is that we are building the database and the development team will tap into it.

Notice this link to Bitcoin. Not only was there a quick writeup, but we also have a couple of articles linked that were applicable to the topic.

This is how massive expansion can occur.

If more people start projects that can help to push things forward, others will be able to take them and integrate them in other ways.

Anyone who is holding Leo Power is part owner in the ecosystem.

It is time all started to act upon that.

Lol. This is great and I'm glad @khaleelkazi pushed the idea forward. I've been saying the same thing for 4 years and 50 weeks on the chain but few listen. This is classic 2010 SEO and it works. In this case, the idea being that the entries on Leoglossary themselves will rank in google and drive traffic. The brass knuckle tactic would be to link from other domains than Leofinance and hive domains as the hive links will reach diminishing returns.

Yes it is one of brute force so it will take a while but it is brass knuckles tactics. Just get a lot of links that are shared out there and get the Google spider bouncing around.

I am finding with this Main Menu I can get 7-10 links in a post fairly easily.

Everyone can contribute and it would be great to see Khal's idea do that automatically. It will definitely help back link more terms to the glossary.

I would imagine it finds the link automatically. Not sure the adding. Might have to press a button. LOL

Khaleelkazi idea is a good addition and will make it easier than ever to optimize content easily, but before that it's good to pick up those links from leoglossary and get the rankings up

Very interesting proposal. I hope it is accepted and we can carry it out. I think the idea is great, because as I see it, LeoFinance and Hive already have more potential than Wikipedia and Investopedia combined to grow as knowledge dissemination platforms in the future; but much more if we focus on creating appropriate link building through our posts and the creation of content, as a glossary, related to crypto and economic issues.

We seriously need an all new front end made for this!!! Data will be stored on blockchain. It'll be like a Wikipedia for crypto. We can even reward contributors with LEO & Hive. Heck we could even have some other Tribe tokens too :)

LEO is doing some awesome stuff. Surely this'll all help to get ourselves to be Seeking Alpha for crypto world used by millions daily...

Crossposting

Very good idea.
I would suggest this data base code also give you the option to link to other articles in Leofinance like your own. For example if I right about Bitcoins electricity consumption, and @readthisplease also writes on this subject, it would be great to be able to have a section open at the bottom of my post which allows me to add a section entitled Other Leofinance articles on this subject and let me decide to include these articles as links at the end of my article. In SEO terms it’s called Crossposting and improves Google rankings, and thus traffics to our site, plus improves our Time on Site metric which is also part of the alcorhythm.

Genius!!! I love the idea Task. LeoFinance is the holy grail of knowledge about topics like Crypto, Blockchain, and Finance. An Index like this will serve as a great reference point for everyone looking to learn about a particular term.

This will def help us in ranking LeoFinance.io higher in SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) and should bring in external traffic over time.

I am very happy to read these developments. As a longtime internet user, I remember the days when teachers would scream "DON'T USE WIKIPEDIA FOR ANY SOURCES" for school work. I always thought it was stupid. Why not use a source that can be edited and cited for proof?

Well, @LeoGlossary is a logical and practical solution to bridging some of the gap in financial knowledge between the masses and the big institutions that run the world.

I've always been a fan of worker-owned co-ops, because it really does give the individual worker a real stake in the business that they help run. It's the central tenet of decentralization: People Power

The bottom line is these three individuals cannot do it on their own.

I can and I will haha!

But seriously.

We're getting a core group of writers like yourself who are implementing good SEO principles in their writing and organic traffic continues to far outperform all other referral sources.

LeoFinance is now positioned head and shoulders above, as the best Web3 blogging platform.

Actually when push comes to shove, you can say that thanks to Hive, its the only true Web3 blogging platform...

But that's an argument for another day :)
