A MISUNDERSTANDING OR MY MISUNDERSTANDING

Recently, there has been some social media banter about Dogecoin enjoying an inorganic growth which will lead to an eventual disaster.

As a regular information hoarder who has no idea what inorganic or organic growth is, I decided to do a little research.

An inorganic growth in the world of crypto, just like that of agriculture, isn't exactly natural.

Just like in agriculture where an inorganically grown plant is one that grows fast through added support from chemicals and unmentionables.

In cryptocurrency, inorganic growth refers to a coin experiencing an obscene amount of growth after it has been taken over by an individual or has been merged.

Through inorganic growth, companies gain access to completely new markets.

Organic growth is slow and can be quite superior to that of inorganic. Organic growth occurs naturally. Through this method, companies pull their resources together and figure out a way to boost sales and increase their output without a merger.

Organic growth is a lot more sustainable than inorganic growth. It poses a more lasting future benefit.

Haven understood these details about organic and inorganic growth, it makes me wonder how exactly these details are in reference to the growth of Dogecoin and what the long-term repercussion might be.

Dogecoin has a pretty straightforward history. It was invented by Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer. It was released on the 6th of December, 2013.

Co-founded by an IBM software engineer and Adobe software engineer, their goal was to create a digital currency to reach a broader demographic than Bitcoin.

In 2014, their trading volume surpassed that of Bitcoin briefly, but the market capitalization remained low.

By 2015, Palmer decided to take a leave from the world of cryptocurrency while the coin went up to reach its peak of $0.017 and of 2018, their market cap approached $2 billion.

Earlier, in 2013, Dogecoin was a victim of a major theft, where the dogewallet was hacked and all 'send' commands were forwarded to a static address.

This incident made it the most talked-about altcoin on Twitter. Fast forward to now that the help of Elon Musk and Mark Cuban has made Dogecoin highly sought after, raising the market capitalization $50 billion. This made it the fifth-highest-valued cryptocurrency.

Haven went through such a tough history and rising to a height such as this, makes me wonder how exactly dogecoin is experiencing an inorganic growth and how short-lived this is going to be.

My search obviously did not prove very successful as I'm yet to figure this one out.
Although, I do have a feeling the 'inorganic growth' being mentioned here has to do with the influence of Elon Musk and Mark Cuban.
Dogecoin has experienced exponential growth over time and maybe some part of this growth has been fueled by hype, I still barely understand how unnatural this growth really is.
