Kitchen day for market day

A long but productive day in the kitchen yesterday. All destined for the market. Vegan meringues were first up while the sourdough for the rolls proved.

Then 500g chillies got the chop. Only one jar of jam left.

Labneh got potted with oreganum from the garden - with local olive oil.

Almost lastly, a potential new line: the most delicious vegan mushroom paté.

Finally, the fresh baked bread smell of two dozen rolls filled the house.

A good day.

Until next time, be well

That's a lot of bread. Do you run a commercial operation or is this all for personal use?

It's a combination of both. I have a stall at our village market. What I don't sell, I freeze for our own use. We no longer buy commercial bread.

Ah yeah that makes sense, a stall. That's be cool, knowing your produce is being enjoyed by others and also getting a few bucks in for more supplies. Nice work. :)

Your vegan meringues are really looking so good! Let's just hope that we don't go into a horrid lockdown again or at least not such a severe one as that first time so that we can try and keep our lives as normal as possible!

Thanks, Lizelle. Honestly, I don't think we'll go back into a hard lockdown - as a country. I do think, though, that there needs to be some clamping down
