Line Dive Friday

Hi there weekend family hope everyone is doing well today, its weekend finally time to unwind and enjoy the rest day after a weekdays of hustling from our daily jobs. Since its weekend, our growing community of freedivers here in Alcoy decided to have a line dive, since many youths in our nearby village are interested to join the community. To be able to cater the new members of the community, we ended up having an intro classes, a basic introduction about freediving from breathing techniques to body position during duck dives down to equalization.

To secure the safety of the new members, certainly the community provided the best safety divers. Going on to the waters, we agreed upon to let the new members use their fins in shallow part of waters to practice the proper way of using it and to let them familiarize as well the scissor motion technique before going to the deeper part. We also advice them to just relax in water so as not to cause panic and enjoy as they float, after all we had safety diver with us. As we head on the deeper part and getting ready all the equipment's needed for the line dive placing the buoy and the line, one of our safety diver took the first dive with just his constant weight and not having a fins on him, and of course accompanied with another safety diver. One of our youngest member in the community Abbie a 16 year old was enjoying the camera as she ascend to the surface after successfully made the five meter descend on the line dive.

Overall the new members of the community enjoyed much the line dive and definitely will come back to join future dives and most importantly everyone was safe. As our community of freediver grows gradually the senior members having a second thought of having a line dive training twice a week as much as possible just to cater those who are interested to learn the basics on freediving, at the same time to promote the diving spot of Alcoy.
