Up or Down? An interesting weekend challenge.

Hello, greetings here. This is the first time I post in your community. I hope you like my participation in this very interesting

Challenge

At first I was not very decided which of the options to write as such, because I tell you that I liked all the possibilities. However, I decided Top or Bottom.

Here is my opinion, which I write as an account of my experience under the sea, just imagining that majesty in front of me, or on top of me 🙊.

Accepting my fear of the amount of water that exists in the oceans, which is too much and that its richness in resources is even more so, I decided to submerge myself in its waters for a week. At the beginning I will be dizzy, because, my nerves for being enclosed in a structure that although it assures our lives, it can fail for any technical problem, but, I want to think that everything will be great.

My fear will still be there, I can see it through the different windows of the submarine, as well as, I see with much pleasure and admiration, the amount of colors, shapes and sizes of aquatic life underwater. There are so many, so many forms of life there, that I just want to take pictures of everything that moves or not, because this may be my only chance to see a humpback whale up close, for example. My favorite of all the marine animal kingdom.

Their power in the ocean is imposing for me, they can reach depths that I can't imagine being able to reach someday, their wide body and the sound they emit can be heard in our small berth to sleep inside the wing assigned for it. It is a beautiful submarine, with state of the art technology, it is equipped for scientific purpose, they have relied on it for the analysis of marine life and in projects that seek to save the oceans, which if you don't know, are fundamental in climate change.

Anyway, I am so happy down here that I only get 3 hours of sleep, the rest I spend watching every centimeter I have in front of me, writing down in my diary everything I can, as my camera and the memories that accompany me are filling up with images. I don't know how many days we have been here, I only hope there are still many more to go, I don't want to leave.

The technician who sleeps in the bunk below me describes stories that leave me frozen, tales of many creatures that roam the sea in search of sad and purposeless souls, giant mollusks that catch nets of boats and take them to the depths and there they lose their precious lives. That seems crazy to me, I doubt it, because I cannot believe that those creatures that I have seen all these days, are capable of inflicting fear and harm to other researchers.

The days go by, I have been able to observe very well a mother whale and her little calf, they are beautiful and affectionate in their style and possibility. Their bodies are under the normal standards of their species. I am only concerned that they are alone and have no members of their species nearby, the radar shows it. That surprises us.

When there is only one night left in the ocean, keep in mind that there is no sunlight down here, (we are only guided by the watches), everything is much darker outside, on the radar we can see on our big submarine ship a spot that my colleagues and I have not been able to decipher, not even the cowboy of the crew. We are all nervous, it does not allow us to advance to the surface and we can no longer descend, it is not safe.

The wait for this mysterious stain to be removed or for us to evade it is very distressing. Suddenly, something made us move very fast towards the surface and there was nothing the people in charge of the ship could do, only trust in God. Those wonderful days of research had turned into a moment of impending terror. Inside, all of us clinging to our chairs, we watched in amazement the tentacles and suction cups that had trapped the submarine.

The technician's tales were not myths, they were real and I was right there observing it all first hand. I never saw this coming.

Well, no doubt this story is just a total approximation of my enjoyment under the sea, altered by the fear I have of imagining myself right there. Yes, I know it is contradictory, but, I would love to be able to see up close so many creatures that I have always dreamed of seeing, I have already seen them on TV programs that show marine life, but, it will never compare to the experience of seeing them there live and direct. Besides, I am encouraged to be in the midst of a group of people who care and watch over our oceans, they are so valuable and so impressive, that it is worth exploring them, there is so little we know about them that I prefer to fight my fear of water and join in their conservation. Space can wait a little longer, now the ocean is in danger and we must save it.

Blessings to all. I hope my entry can be enjoyed. A pleasure to write around here ☺️

Without a doubt a great experience but at the same time with a little fear, the sea is usually tricky, and with those sea creatures you have to be very careful, a great adventure jiji, a pleasure to read you friend.

Thank you very much friend, it's an experience I would love to try even though I'm dying of nerves just thinking about being underwater for so long. But, seeing that majesty is worth it. Hahaha thanks for stopping by.

I like how you were realistic on the fears of the sea.
The lives in the ocean can be a glorious sight to behold especially the humpback whale you mentioned but I don’t think I can imagine being in that position.
So many phobias can kick in, claustrophobia, thalassophobia etc.

I enjoyed reading though, you write so lovely.
Happy new week to you.

I totally agree with you, I think my fears would be exalted in the presence of that immensity and being enclosed. The truth is that although I would love to see one of these whales up close, I don't think I could resist so long underwater.

Thank you very much for your words. Regards
