A real surprise here today!

Some weekend action here, as the storm winds are up and the waves are big!

The first three photos will show you some lovely sail surfing, but then a surprise took place here.
I don't want to say too much as I think that you should come and watch some real action here.
Without any further ado, let's go surfing!

Nice, cool and calm below at speeds in the winds!

326.JPG

Greeting an old buddy along the way on this nice day out!

327.JPG

Now for the surprise below!; A Kite Raid!

What was going on here? A speeding guy came along hanging on to something, so the guy on the sail put his foot down on the gas pedal!

333.JPG

Nope! Look how that other guy raises his arm.
A sort of a "GOTCHA" moment and now the guy on the sail cut sharply to the left to avoid the ropes!

331.JPG

Bang! There he goes at high speed and luckily the sail swung out of the way!

334.JPG

I love this photo below as the kite guy flew past that sail like a bird!

And that's not all folks!

336 2.JPG

The sail guy was speeding towards the right and the kite guy towards the left!

272 2.JPG

The kite guy made a sharp U-turn and came flying back in the same direction as the sail guy!

Here you see the kite guy on his return circling the sail guy!

345.JPG

Giving the sail guy a look that said hey bro grow up and get a kite 🤣

346.JPG

Finally, just another look here at a kite in the surf!

294.JPG

And there you have it folks, one would think that ocean has miles of space where everyone can do their own thing.
Not so, as in this post you can see that everyone wants to travel on the same highway in the waves. Maybe the waves are at their most exciting in this area lol.

Now, I hear many of you say; "Not for me thank you"
"I will never get onto something like this"!

Well, there are always alternatives aren't there?
How's about a battery operated scooter?

376.JPG

Just a bit of fun here with this post and hope that you have enjoyed the pictures!

Note: All photos are my own and taken with a Canon Powershot SX60HS on the super zoom!

I leave you with this below to think about;

Thank you kindly my friend.
I had to drop that last one in, as many here would not want to get onto those boards lol.
So maybe they would like the post if they saw the scooter lol.

Be blessed and thank you once again!

Wow! That was some fun stuff. I've never tried either one, but have spent some time watching wind surfers on the Columbia River. They get it on pretty good and these guys look like they are really getting after it!

At my age and stage I think I'm probably most likely to end up like the last guy!

Thanks for a great post my friend!

Hahaha, I posted that last one for us Sir Tom.

Yes, it was fun to watch those guys in action and I never knew that a sailing board can go so fast. But of course the wind was fierce and it sped them along.
The kites though is another story, as I have some photos of the one guy that continued to fall off his board.

Thankfully the guys in the post herewith the kites were true professionals.

My pleasure to visit and thank you for appreciating the post my friend!

As said in my reply to the other post - nothing for me to do, but to watch and take photos 😉
Great post, Zac, and you told a cool story with it 😊

One of my brothers and his wife kit board, they'd love conditions like this.

It's always an amazing experience to watch those guys in action mate.
the one guy even tried a somersault and the next time I will get him on camera.
Maybe your brother and his wife must come and try these waves lol.

They'd love to I'm sure. There's not a huge amount of wave action where they are as the Great Barrier Reef tends to knock them down; They get by though, and have some fun.

Ah, so okay, they must then also live in Aus and I think they must be the couple who's little boy is so mad about his uncle G-dog?
Why don't you get them onto Hive, as it could also help them?

Yes, north east corner in the tropics, and yes their little lad thinks uncle G-dog is the best thing ever...Not as good as yoghurt though, he loves yoghurt!

They are both on hive but my sister in law doesn't post much. My brother chooses to remain completely anonymous. He needs military clearance for the job he does and doesn't like having a digital footprint. Who knows, you may be interacting with him without even knowing he's my brother.

Hahaha, I sense a wee bit of jealousy here against yogurt of all things lol.

Ah, that's good and I hope that that I treated him well if he ever had communicated with me.

May this new week be a better one for you mate!

I can't imagine you'd deal with anyone with less than politeness and courtesy so I'm sure you did with my anonymous brother. :)

Thank you for the kind words sir.

Good news this side, they gave me the order of my future this morning.

Right eye cataract operation first in November, then we have to wait for the medical aid funds to replenish in the new year, to do a new left knee and after that the spine fusion.
So no major ops awaiting anymore for this year as I see the cataract one as something small.

Has Faith been for her op yet?

That sounds like a step forward Zac. I think it's pretty poor that a person has to wait for health care funds to replenish before one can rectify basic issues. It's the same here, similar I should say.

Faith's op is mid-week next week. I'm taking a few days off work to look after her, but will end up working from home I guess. The following week is D-Day for her mum as far as knowing what's possible. She is on a VLC very low calorie) diet at the moment, shakes only, to reduce the fat content in her liver. This reduces the risk of her bleeding out on the table during the operation which is a real possibility. She'll have to make a decision as to having the op or not. So, an interesting week or so ahead from next week...

Yeah, some tough times ahead and lets hope that the operation will be successful to heal Faith's issue. Recuperation is always an issue, but thankfully nowadays it is much easier than in the past. And of course you will nurse her lovingly.

Also scary stuff about your mom in law as the liver is a very tricky organ and her decision is even more difficult.
I give you my word that we will continue praying and I know that things will work out as it is meant to be.
All strength to you Galen, as you have a rocky road ahead!

Thanks Zac. I guess people are probably tired of hearing about it but it helps to write it out and so I do. Thanks for your thoughts.

No worry here Galen, as we are not normal people and please rest assured that you are welcome to talk about it as much as you want and even more if you want to.

The safety valve on a steampot is silent when it the pot is cooking, but when it reaches a certain pressure temperature, the valve opens and it lets a steady stream of steam out to relieve the pressure.
Just so should it be for all of us when our thoughts and emotions reach a certain level, as it relieves the pressure.
So talk away my friend!

I like that steampot analogy...I think I'll be using that myself in the future. :)

Yes indeed, but I know that they have been hard at work on this one and I have decided to wait until after before I restore my nodes.

Fun in the wind, sure those guys aren't buddies teasing each other out on the big blue.

Those kites pick up speed that is incredible when catching the right wind, hope they are good swimmers Stephen.

Maybe they are Lady Joan, but too far for me to run across the water to ask them and besides, I will get my shoes wet 🤣

Yes indeed, I saw them whizzing about and there were a few mishaps, but their boards are tied to their waists and so they are back up in no time, as they hang onto that kite bar for dear life lol.

Thank you and hope that your Sunday is good!

Fun watching them from the shoreline these guys really let of steam moving at the speed they do....

Send greetings from Durban, have a good new week ahead.

They know the winds my friend, as they stopped a while later when the wind speed increased. So, it's not just a case of getting on a board and going out there, as there are many variable tricks and skills to know.

Here they started coming in and can I tell you that the flying beach sands sting in that wind!

May you guys also have a splendid week!

Many years ago yes, but it requires balance and nowadays I trip over a garden fork :)
It is the flying features of the sport that attracts me.
