Dry-humped; A true life story on sexual harrassment

avatar

I once took a bike from Gate to Iwo road, in Ibadan, Nigeria. Along the way, the bikeman picked another passenger, I protested but I agreed eventually, he was just a young boy in his school uniform, maybe SSS1. I wanted to climb down and let him sit in the middle but he said he wasn't going far and the bikeman was beginning to rant.

"Gba"
"Gba"
"Gba"

The boy kept hitting me at intervals.

Must be because the bikeman brakes too fast due to the traffic congestion. We left congested area but he continued to hit me. I looked back at him and told gently him to move a bit, he just stared at me defiantly and continued hitting me. At this point he was fully erect, well as erect as can be in a trouser on a bike.

By God, I wanted to slap him so hard but I refrained and only hit him with my elbow, bobo just smiled and continued till he alighted.

What just happened?

Oh, not much, a 13/14 years old just dry humped me on a bike ride and he totally enjoyed it. You think if he had me in a corner or away from public space he wouldn't do more?

Na to learn self defense remain like this and move around with a knife.

"Buy pepperspray, buy taser", yes I agree.

But, how can you be on guard when your assailant is your uncle, brother, father, nephew, godfather, friend, pastor, teacher?

My Take

Rape/Sexual abuse/harrassment is a global menace that needs to be dealt with. No on is safe, not the ladies, not the men as long as these rapists are out there. If you are one of those that blame the victim, you are also a rapist. If you one that justifies their actions by saying stuff like why was she dressed like that, what was he doing out the alley at that time, etc, you are a rapist.

It has gone beyond bad parenting now peer pressure and access to the internet. We need stricter laws in place so every victim of rape can speak up and know they will get justice. Presently, over 95% of rapists walk free due to bad evidence or total lack of it.
