Not pretty
I went out today but it wasn't pretty,
My city looked like scenes from some Sci-fi movies,
People in clusters despite the social distancing order,
Clusters of people who are seemingly ignorant of the present ordeal.
I went out today but it wasn't pretty,
Men and women and children with nose-masks,
Different colours, fabrics and designs,
Some properly worn, some worn as adornments.
I went out today but it wasn't pretty,
Long queues at the ATM centers,
People pushing each other to get to the front of the line,
Loud chatters and small fights quickly broken up.
I went out today but it wasn't pretty,
Everyone looked at their neighbours as possible carriers,
Despite the smiles and laughters, there's a silent undertone of tension,
How much longer before we break?

Nah
Nothing looks pretty anymore
My earnest wish is that everything goes back to normal
Me too!
I like the refrain - I went out today but it wasn't pretty - and I hope you find beauty all around you next time you go out. It's there. Hard to see when the atmosphere of fear, despair, and distrust prevails.
Hang in there! All shall be well!
Amen! Truth be told, I am scared to go out again. The markets are densely packed, masks everywhere. I miss breathing in the air everywhere like I used to.
How are things at your end?
Grocery stores are crowded here, with tape on the floor marking six feet of separation and aisles marked for one-way traffic. Not everyone wears masks at the Home Improvement stores. Small businesses are shut down, but big chain stores get to stay open. People are laid off, taking huge cuts in pay. I'm doing ok but I feel for others, son and daughter included, as their livelihoods vanished. This is like a war zone without the air raids and bombs.
Me too, I really can not wait. Welcome back to blogging, the space missed you.
I went out today and everything looked so normal that i got scared. May God help us
Amen!
I'm so tensed about going out
Don't be, it's just for a while
