A metaphor fiction about the history of world: Waiting for Nightmares
Short Story: Waiting for Nightmares
Everything is going the way as we wish! It’s annoying. Everyone looked back.
Adam was saying anxiously: There is no fantasy.
We were trying to capture Adam's point..What kind of fantasy?
-As we’re playing- thieves & cops. Anyone is becoming whatever he wants. Is it not a ridiculous childish game?
-What do you want so?
Shatin leaned his head forward and said: Don’t you want to play more?
Adam raised his neck and whispered: I must do. But this game is so dull and monotonous as any comic book read over and over again. I want the game to be alive and spontaneous.
I asked to become sure: How?
-Suppose Devid is the king, he will remain the king. Or Robin is a bandit, he will do up to the end. Even if anybody want, they will not be able to change the characters in a moment.
-But I don’t want to be a bandit. - Robin growled. Gabriel was surprised: Do you mean it? Do you want something that will disrupt the game?
This time Adam replied firmly: No. You don’t know what I know.
Everyone was shocked by his confidence.
-But who will be the king and who will be the thief - how it will be fixed? Shatin looked at Adam with skeptical eyes: Do you want to fix that? With a pause, he frowned and said, Do you want to become leader?
-I won’t. Grandma will fix it.
Isha's words brought smiles on all our faces. That's a good offer! From the yard, the children's crowd fluttered like the ant and came into the house.
Grandma had just finished her dinner and sat with relaxation. We sat around her. Observing us, grandma understood that we will not let off without hearing story. So she started to sort out a single drink and prepared herself.
It was a terrible supernatural story! How much surreal the plot was! At the starting, grandma warned everyone:
You have to be listened calmly. But you shouldn't be addicted in the story. Addiction will evoke the feelings called fear. Once fear is created, it grasps all other feelings. Finally You will go to sleep. If the mind is frightened- you will have various nightmares in your sleep. The nightmares are terrible!
We were shuddered.
Grandma was going to tell the story. Each of the characters in the story was named after each of us. Grandma's tale was so mesmerizing that we forgot the warning and slowly began to immerse ourselves in the story!
It was really a thrilling experience! There were so many twists and turns in the story, and so much variety in the characters; we even forgot our own existence. I also started to find myself in the character of the story.
When grandma was talking about the tyrant king Pharaoh, we were looking at our friend Pharaoh again and again, burning with rage. The poor man became numb in our eyes.
Again when it turned to the main character Shatin, I kept abusing Shatin in my mind. Hatred came to spit in the mouth! Again, when I heard about the generosity of the character Mahim, I felt love for Mahim. Tears welled up in when heard about Job's suffering.
There were great disasters in the story, there were wars. It was horrible like chopping people to death! And after a while, we felt shocked to discovered- Fear! Fear was being transmitted to our minds.
The story was continuing to more twists. Suddenly my eyes became heavy and I fell asleep. I was wishing very much to listen up to the last. But I can't keep my eyes peeled as if someone was pulling down the upper eyelid. Exactly like the theatre veils come down.
The ultimate warning words of grandma were ringing in my ears. What a mistake we had done! Despite the warnings, we became engrossed in the story. Now there is nothing to do except waiting for the nightmares.

Clever story - I like the way Grandma's old fashioned story telling instills fear (even nightmares) without the modern tech of gamers or even the visuals of a comic book.
I wonder if you translated to English by dint of your own effort, or if you used online translator apps?
Cool story!
Thanks @carolkean, this is my own efforts but I appreciate the help of a dictionary for searching some words. I hope you can identify the metaphoric meaning of this story.
I commend you - writing in a second language is daunting! Grammar and dictionary apps won't catch things like transitive and intransitive verbs - e.g. "We were shuddered" - the windows might be shuttered, but people shudder (intransitive verb) - and it's been more than 40 years since I earned a degree in English teaching. I no longer remember how to parse a sentence. For all the language differences, though, you carry the spirit of your story to the reader. Well done!
Parse a sentence - hmmm, this site looks odd:
www.link.cs.cmu.edu/link/submit-sentence-4.htmlhttps://www.link.cs.cmu.edu/link/submit-sentence-4.html
This may be a better way to see what it means to "parse" a sentence:
Never mind.
I can't find a video I like on how to parse (or "diagram") a sentence. -_-
The video is not playing.
