Congrats to the winner.
I hope to partake in the inkwell contest
Hello @adechina, this is a contest that is open now for writers to enter. The winners are from last year :)
Look forward to your entry in The Inkwell Challenge - here's this week's Fiction Challenge. There will be a new one on Thursday.
I like this. I love that literature is being connected from the outside into our small community. It brings to mind an old idea, a magazine or literary journal that publishes pieces picked from posts by authors here, or a contest that is supported with awards of hive to winners, after which winning works would appear on an anthology. I like to believe that one day blockchain based spaces like this will become more connected to mainstream literary activities like contests, anthologies, publication, etc.
To end, in further posts of this nature, it would be nice to see free submissions mixed with paid submissions for those who cannot afford to pay to submit their pieces.
Thank darlings for this community. I am happy to be a part of it. More grease.
Or we could make The Ink Well a go to destination for people who want to read stunning poetry and fiction :) We have the means now, through tipping, for writers to continue to earn for a very long time.
We will need better ways of curating the content of The Ink Well so every post is good quality and so that it is easy from readers outside to find what they are looking for.
Writers could help to grow The Ink Well by:
The great thing about Hive is that writers have the opportunity to earn to pay for submission fees.
How do you feel The Ink Well could best help writers?
I subscribe to this.
I think inkwell is already doing a good job with this home for writers to congregate. I just envision a situation where writers here do not just stop at curation and or a traffic on their posts but also find their works, if good, on platforms that cater to mainstream writing submissions. It is an idea which I feel will bridge the gap and make the Hive writing community as well as Inkwell mainstream.
I know this will take some doing to achieve. I feel that celebrating works that touch us can go a lot father than up votes and reblogs. I appreciate all that you do and I know that you will do more.
The first showcase post will be published on Wednesday - let me know what you think :)
Great conversation, @warpedpoetic and @shanibeer. I think there is great opportunity for growth of the writing community here, and I love seeing the ideas about how to make that happen.
There used to be a group on Steem that created anthologies like you're talking about, @warpedpoetic.
Oh, anthologies outside the blockchain space?
