You draw a lovely circle around the life of the narrator and the life of his son. You begin in the present, take us on a sentimental journey to the past, and bring us back to the present again. It is the continuity, the stream of life from one generation to the next, that we feel. This is a rich feeling and it endears us to the narrator.

Thank you very much, I had been scared it would not really portray the prompt as I had intended it to. I'm happy it did.
