β™» MY OLD SKATEBOARD // MY NEW CANVAS 🎨

avatar

Hey guys,

I hope you are all doing great! I had a creative morning and I feel so fullfilled today! I usually collect my boyfriend's old broken skateboards in order to create something new with them and give them life and usage again!

So I decided to paint on the smaller piece of skateboard starting by cleaning the surface from dust and dirt. I used white paint color as a background to cover the original print.

On this board I decided to go for Homer Simpson and his favorite donut!🍩 I love this character, don't you??

Check out the whole process through photographs :

Yo! So good!! I have a literal pile of old/broken decks in my closet; like probably 30 of them. I have been saving them for woodworking projects but realistically it's going to be many years before I have the money/space to have the woodshop I want.. and I have plenty of acrylic lying around.. you might've inspired me...... maybe.. haha!

Seriously though, really good work. It looks great

Oh thank you for your words @herbertholmes2, I am happy to inspire people!πŸ˜ƒ
I know, I have seen so many woodworking projects with old decks that rocks and I would love to try someday if I can find the required equipment.
Nevertheless, I would love to see your art project when it comes!πŸ™‚

I'm pretty self conscious when it comes to my art haha. 90% of the time, I'm the only one to see it πŸ˜‚ but maybe I'll post something to hive :)

I pass if you wanna keep it for yourself but I hope you are proud of your art no matter what, cause we should be!πŸ™‚ It's an expression of our creativity, even if it is not that "perfect"! This is actually my 3rd attempt to paint something with brushes and acrylics and I know that my methods might not be the right ones and the result has it's imperfections for sure but I'm happy with it! ( Generally, I kinda like when art is not that flawless πŸ˜…)

I'm definitely with you on that last part! It's not that I'm not proud of it; it's just usually rather personal. I don't know how to explain. But, I guess I'm only referring to specific types of art and individual pieces. I do plenty of stuff that I wear proudly!

I'll post some at some point I'm sure.... who knows when though haha

And by the way, really? Third time!? That's really impressive!

Heheh yeah I see what you mean and it is respected!
Wow, you mean that you design your own clothes or do modifications on them?

I do! But that's not what I meant.. hahah I have no idea why I phrased it like that. I was running on a long no-sleep strike. But I do frequently modify clothes and even paint on them!
