Enjoying The Best Day Given To You: Episode 5 Is on Childhood Reunion-2

HELLO!

So this is the fifth episode on a short vacation to my family's place. I am gradually bringing my visit to an end and it’s more of a mixed feeling to me.

You remember I said yesterday, that I would dedicate this week to visiting a few of my childhood friends…so here is one of them.

Augustine and I actually lived in the same neighborhood for over 10 years and even though at some point I had to leave for a boarding school, we still had the holidays to hang out.

When I was much younger, I remember we used to gather in the fire place at night to listen to moonlight stories from my aunt. Moving into this neighborhood, there was no moonlight stories whatsoever.

But there was something more than the moonlight stories…it was the gathering of true and genuine friends who came together to share their life crisis for the day.

My neighborhood friends and I gathered every night for about 4hours chatting. We would tell each other how our day went and what we hope to achieve the following day. This was always like therapy session as it eased every burden we were carrying and gave us hope for tomorrow.

But I think this is one of the things internet has robbed us of though. We visit friends to chat and hang out, and still end up spending more time pressing our phones than having actual conversations.

Anyways, I am glad I came on this trip. It’s letting me appreciate each and every day I’ve got, the nature, true friendship and a chance to relive my childhood days.
