(6 month of Hive) How many communities formed on Hive ? Is it ok to remove or merge the duplicate communities??

avatar

We are at the end of first 6 month of Hive Blockchain. Considering it came into picture on March 2020.

Hive is ranked as community based platform, and soon after its inception many new communities are getting into picture.

One after the another, one above the other and in process I assume there were many community that formed duplicate. Recently, when I was scrolling the community list, It as no end, I keep scrolling till I get tired of going down in the list.

What could be the number of Community??

I started wondering , the moment I stopped scrolling. On process I do identify, identical concept based communities have taken place in number.

Is there way we can bring all different communities under one roof , I mean topic based??

Couldn't find any answer, I end up.here , looking to get any help and support. Or I am wasting time in analyzing such thing.

Peace

That would suggest unity, something I don't think was considered in the creation of 'communities'.

While I agree that the list is endless, I don't think we want to force communities together.

What we should be aiming to do is offer better listing, searching and organisation of communities.

The problem is an unknown user or new unable to trace the best community that suits their niche.....and we know how important it is to have a good community to sustain on hive

I definitely agree with you. It looks like a mess when you first click the communities tab on PeakD.

But you can't just delete or force merge communities. What we have to do is work on how we order and display the most relevant, best communities.

That true...even I was wondering better not to make the place a fish market or mess. And that what made me to put up the question. Hope the hive owners might have a certain way to control them....

We probably cannot merge communities but they can join effort to support similar projects that can bring great engagement and reward for participants.

Merging means leaving the non performer and aligned with the main community that doing g well....this way the empty community doesn't get much traffic..looking at the non co attribution...and may shift looking for other performing community....(just a thougt)
