Its time to start documenting positive change.
Have you ever had that thought, that it would be nice if the 'news media' showed some positive 'news'?
Being the change we want to see in the world, I will try to document this. I am using peaklock from peakd on my cellphone, huaweii yii6 and reduce photo size app to save on data.
Here is a daily selfie, sitting on one of my contours from the Contouring in Colombia series. One of my favorite flowers can be seen next to me, it spreads as bulbs and by seed but slower. Also I have a new pair of BlackJack boots that I bought 3 days ago, they cost 160'000 colombian pesos, which is 43.99 USD at todays bloomberg reported exchange rate of 3637 COP per dollar.
Today I yelled at a guy.
I have been desirous of wifi on our farm for as long as we have been here, and its closer than ever. Not only do we have a forward facing outpost picnic bench, it now has electricity, and a great view of the adjacent mountain peaks, where there are some repeaters.
Unfortunately today I forgot the onion and had to arrive late. I left two young fellows working for me leading the internet antenna installation man up to our farm while I ran back for leeks, which although many foodstuffs are increasing in price, had actually gotten cheaper, only 2000 pesos per kilo, so I bought two.
When I arrived, I was aghast, as the man was in the act of copicing a 6-7 year old timber tree - Cordia Alliodora.
I had to inform him that this tree was worth more than his internet.
It seems I didnt save much. I now have to decide whether to finish it off or leave it up. If we are lucky it will most likely resprout, but this tree will not now likely produce the highly valued straight, tall trunks that Cordia Alliodora is known for.
Though, if I am remembering right, this tree was already an ugly duckling when we got our hands on it, a left behind as an imperfect specimen on someone elses project.
That seven people heard me tell the man that a tree was worth more than internet, might be a slight win as well.
And even if it all goes wrong, I'll stand before the Lord of Song with nothing on my lips but Hallelujah.
Upvoted to thank you @ecoinstant for supporting the CO2Fund by, e.g., supporting posts, banner presentation, SP/HP delegation, dustsweeper gifts, helpful tools, etc.
Thank you @ecoinstant, for using the CO2 Compensation Coin (COCO / SWAP.COCO) on Steem-Engine or on Hive-Engine to reduce your CO2 footprint. You want to join? Buy some COCO / SWAP.COCO and transfer them to CO2Fund's account @co2fund.
This is a wonderful idea - I was going to start documenting an old tree in our yard starting on solitice for a full year...a perfect mix of smartphone photography, life and the use of blockchain to document a cycle of life.
yes indeed! There is 99% bad news; it's dreadful and I hope more people will realize that this is bad for their mental health. There is so much good in the world, but how will we know it on MSM? Of course, the answer lies in stop watching it and focus on the community and your friends and family. Don't get dragged down by it, and instead lift yourself and others up :)

Back in the olden days of the long, long ago on The Other Blockchain we used to use the tag #thegoodnews where we would share positive stories. Like so many of my favorite hashtags (cough #ophumanangels cough), it kind of fizzled out as the bulk of the posters disappeared when it became clear the crypto winter was going to be Game of Thrones long and they wouldn't be making millions any time soon. Sigh.
Meanwhile, I just love hearing positive stories and random acts of kindness, so thank you for sharing yours. :)
I'm glad several people heard you say the tree was more important. So many people seem to be shocked by such sentiments, it makes me realize what a different mindset I have to so many people around me. I mean, I know I'm a weirdo outlier in general, but sometimes I'm just like WHAT YEAR IS IT HOW HAS SOCIETY NOT GOTTEN PAST THIS and other people are staring at me like "what's the big deal?"
Like one time the super of my building had tree cutter/trimmer guys start killing some trees right outside my balcony and I came home to find them felling one. I literally started crying because that was my tree friend right outside my window. I went to talk to the super asking her what was going on and found out that I wasn't the only resident who was complaining that we didn't want the trees cut ...which seemed to surprise her. Why did they murder the tree? Because the roots had bunched up where the asphalt met the wooden fence and now the fence was borked for a few feet, oh no. They tore down the fence too and never replaced it, so you're telling me you couldn't have just done that and let the tree be?
But I digress. I hope your tree is OK. And that you can get wifi without any more damage!
Excellent, thank you for the tag suggestions, I will try to use both!!!
Some people just need to be told off!
Media shows most of the time bad news only and I guess that is because we also thinks that new are to show that way only...
I remember some months back one of new channel telecast a shows that telcast the good news around us but it was half an hour show and all other time its just full of bad news only...
Thanks for sharing...
Go you!!! Yes, they are.
