Life-tree with wonder-deers - Watercolor on raw leather mini drum, step-by-step

Dear Hive-beez,
among my many things to do sometimes I have a free hour when I can create. As usual, I experimented with an unusual combination of materials and techniques. Aniline on raw skin? Yes! It sounds like a pretty crazy idea, but it works because the skin absorbs the dye and so it becomes durable, not worn down. Felt-tip pens are a more difficult topic.I didn’t have a problem with the thick white water-soluble alcohol felt-tip pen, but I struggled all the more with the thin black felt-tip pen. I wanted to contour, but I just couldn’t draw a normal line on the surface because it left a dashed line or nothing. I had to throw out another thin felt-tip pen and promised myself that I wouldn’t buy such a shit anymore, which would be ruined after the first use. The graphite pencil proved to be better.

Not perfect yet, but I'm satisfied with the result. Because it is not too large (only 17 cm), a thick felt-tip pen is not suitable for finer workmanship.
Looks wonderful in sunshine! I'm going to hang it on the wall with some feather and bead decoration.
