Nature~~ Bella Moth (Utetheisa Ornatrix)

avatar

I found another stunning moth that was perching on the wild grass. It is called bella moth, onate moth or rattlebox (Utetheisa ornatrix) belongs to subfamily Arctiinae. It has colorful wings ranging from red, pink, yellow with black marking in various patterns on both its wings. I saw it perching on the wild grass when I was looking for butterflies and wildflowers around the bush. I did not have moth in my until I spotted this one. Unlike most moths, the bella moth is diurnal and it turns out, the moth I found is, most unusually, active in day-time (‘diurnal’). So, here are some pictures of bella moth that I took a few days ago in the bushes.
